Sorry man I don't mean to be rude, but that sounds like a wobble with a sccream filter.

Seriously man! Are you not reading what I'm saying? I know how to growl and pretty well at that. That's not what I'm looking for, what I'm asking is, once again, if you guys get vowel and movements using purely FM controls. What I want to know, basically, is can you achieve automated vowel sounds by automating FM and no external effects? Otherwise the whole point of FM synthesis is pretty pointless for growls as you might as well have made the signal in any other synth as well. I know about EQ automation and bandrejects like I said already, that's not the technique I'm interested in right now. There's a lot of people in this forum getting annoyed with your attitude. I get you're probably trying to help and that's cool, but you're coming off a bit arrogant. Not trying to be an asshole here but put some more though into your posts or something man.DefeaterDub wrote:seriously man! formant and a sine wave and eq automation, or a couple double notch filters and you'll be vowely in no time
Please tell me more about how shit it was. I would really like to hear from a member of your stature who has posted 12 times here in the past year.DefeaterDub wrote:If someone hasn't told you yet, that tutorial was shit.RandoRando wrote: check my fm growl tutorial in page 8 of this thread
If this was directed to me, im not using Reason, that sound was made only with FM8.DefeaterDub wrote:Sorry man I don't mean to be rude, but that sounds like a wobble with a sccream filter.

let's see you make a better tutorialDefeaterDub wrote:If someone hasn't told you yet, that tutorial was shit.RandoRando wrote:check my fm growl tutorial in page 8 of this threadMaxxan wrote:Hey guys, only recently bought FM8 (also got sytrus) so I'm pretty new to the concept of FM but I understand the idea behind it. Could one of you shed some light in how you achieve the growls in FM? I'm pretty well versed in sound design and processing otherwise, just curious on whether you just use the FM to get a gnarly sound and then filter and process as usual or if there's some untapped potential in automating the FM or something thats otherwise unique to FM synthesis.
That's why I'm posting in this thread. Here's my growl bass. It replicated the one found in Knife Party's tune Centipede.MassAphekt wrote:let's see you make a better tutorialDefeaterDub wrote:If someone hasn't told you yet, that tutorial was shit.RandoRando wrote:check my fm growl tutorial in page 8 of this threadMaxxan wrote:Hey guys, only recently bought FM8 (also got sytrus) so I'm pretty new to the concept of FM but I understand the idea behind it.
