Innit.

Why spend (what sounds like) so much effort and time to make those sick textures then slap the most standard drum sounds and pattern underneath. That tune with better drums could've been something else
maybe he dont give a fuck about what the drums sound like? lol

Whoever said the W I T H L O V E tune is kinda rap too, wtf!? a driven 808 doesnt = trap lol

see, those same hi hats and snares exist across multiple forms of hip hop, most of it southern. are we going to say that cash money are trap now too? we are very quick to put things in neat little boxes, imho

no we're just saying his hit hat pattern is CLEARLY trap influenced.. im not saying his new tune IS trap, im not one for putting any music in boxes.

its just like saying malas basslines are influenced from dub, its clear for the world to see.

i personally hate any tune with this type of hi hat work....

so for that reason.. i'm owt

Honestly, the drums are there to support the track who gives a fuck. Its art not science! The melodies and the lush layering of synth and piano on Soliloquy and the CE mix are fucking heavenly and also sound like something Lucifer would play at his place too ;). Im fucking pumped for this new record!!!

Check the new Cult Music release too!
