yeah you can switch providers and keep your old number, but i think it may depend on the provider, if they offer this service etc.

Ask for your pac code from o2 then you can transfer your number over to another provider.

O2 tarrifs are so bollocks, been with them for 24 months with my phone contract of £55 per month (I'm aware that's ridiculous) and the best they can offer me is £16 a month - 1000 minutes, unlimited texts and 1gb data. Terrible.

Giffgaff you get 250 mins, unlimited texts and data for £12 a month.
