Should have been revising. Did this instead. Any David Lynch fans will either love or hate this...

gah, i had this one nearly done and my computer died without warning, faaaack so i aplogize if this is briefer than it should be

Depone - "Batty Bounce"

props:
+the fade in would make this one easy to mix
+nice FX in the drumline, keeps the ear happy
+variation / staggering of bass is tasty tasty
+the words crisp and pro come to mind
+its, well, bouncey

advice:
-initial drop could be a little more pronounced since it fades in at the beginning and the drop is pretty much the entire song.. silence is good but theres not much prep before that short break
-variation is nice, but could use a quick break or palate cleanser to keep people guessing
-track just kinda fades out, thats a long time for the ears to get tired waiting for the next drop/song, if whoevers bumping it lets it ride in the club setting
-squelched 'yaeh' synths just kinda pop out and then disappear
-not sure how i feel about the bouncy synth getting looped at the end (2:28-end)

overall:
=very well done! you have one of the most pro sounds that i've heard in this thread, for sure...! i think you have very little to worry about, this song is ready for mastering and release, if you wanted it to be.

Rubber (LTUK) - "Lady in the Radiator"

props:
+okay, i was ignorant so i hit the search engines.. so in doing my homework for this one, definitely ended up creeping myself out... wtf man, i guess im gonna have to break down and see this movie so my imagination wont fill in the blanks
+needless to say, unique and haunting
+that bass also fits the mood well

advice:
-eh, the kick is clicky and oldschool, buuut, im not sure how i feel about that pitch altering on it when it comes in. Starts to sound like bubbles popping which kinda kills the creepiness for me
-bass could be a little louder in the mix for me, so it kinda envelopes you in your headphones, if ya feel me..
-ya i guess it would be hard to bring the bass up in the mix without canceling the vocals, and its not like you can get a super high quality vox track of that song unless you use the pixies haha
-maybe a dash more reverb on those vox, a subtle delay...
-abrupt ending. but you knew that.
-flow work / variation

overall:
=alright, so i hadn't heard this before, and the movie its from looks super interesting..! so a thought provoker for me. you also fit the mood of the original song very well. i thoroughly enjoyed it, but those damn datsik addicts will wave the boring flag at you halfway through this one, even if you have all the flow and automation in the world... so keep the spirit of this one alive! well done

DrBio - "CrazyInLove (DrBio RMX)"

props:
+okay, since you made me have to re-listen to the Beyonce song to research this one (shame on you), i at least watched the video... good grief she is attractive!! but you know this, from the picture haha
+ooo, the chill vibe of this one makes it an excellent remix
+you always surprise me when you go soft!! glad i dont have to listen to a million evil robots (dont get me wrong, i love em) in this thread, at least not every day
+vocals are well well done as far as fitting into your composition!
+composition itself is well written, if its all sampled, then its well placed
+vocals really drive this one along and keep it interesting, as well as making the breakdowns really stand out

advice:
-sound quality issues with this one, but thats YouTube for ya
-vox could use a little more overall ambient FX other than pitching... i mean i hear it but its fleeting.. maybe that goes back to quality tho
-that snare needs switching or some reverb, for sure
-haha the pitching makes jay-z sound really strange and childish. maybe its because went straight from the original to this one.. its a good strange, but made me laugh every time.

overall:
=definitely a fan of your softer side!! this is far less irritating and obnoxious as the original song, its borderline gorgeous wish you could get some of the trillions of dollars this song managed to rake in... really could have done a better review with a quality version... why YouTube? whyyyyyy? and why do you use it??? i just.... blah.

much love :w: :w:

Sun_CK - "I Know Something"

props:
+dont think i've done a review of ya before, so i was taken back by the sound of this one!
+now this, is the kinda track i need to get my morning grooving haha
+knew from the beginning that this was gonna be super crunk, i love that about songs like this... love how the beat gives that intro synth so much swagga
+bringing the heat with synth variation and some tasty programming and effects
+dont usually do this, but im adding it to my DJ tracks collection for sure
+(0:55-0:56) love that.
+you really have a hand at melody!!! havent heard that kinda melodic talent since Genesis/SNES midi programmers (seriously, those guys are legend)
+clever ending, i didnt even hear that in the mix til you solo'd it!!

advice:
-main bass synth is super crackly in the lower octaves... sounds great in the mix, but maybe some stronger EQing or lower the crackle/resonance in the beginning where it stands alone... i really got used to it and enjoyed it by the end, only saying that because it was the only thing stopping me from getting 100% into the song
-sub bass? you dont want to sound 8bit with crunkness like that...!

overall:
=jump up!!! you've got a musical mind, which i appreciate and respect. this song was a pleasure to listen to, even the fourth time through. really i would just phatten up the low end before this hits the club (maybe even with some (...gasp.. cant believe im really saying this..) 808 bass in there, so you can really rattle some faces off...
