Absolutely in love with this new Habstrakt tune.

Can anyone help me reproduce this lead synth sound in NI Massive?

Thanks in advance!

@MGPG89 I dunno bout massive as I use reason, but it sounds like multiple layered oscillators through a filter with high resonance routed through a sine shaper with the drive cranked up pretty high. Add some distortion (the distortion is one of the most key parts to this sound). To get that skanky sound, add some slight pitch bending.

I think massive has a sine/square osc that you can start with. Make some of the oscillators more square and some more sine to give it a thick sound.

Here's something I've been trying to work at:

Starts at 27 seconds.

Starts at 55 seconds.

Both are a similar sort of bass and I know that the key to the bassline is using a comb filter properly. I tried using a square wave > bandpass filter w/ high resonance > comb + filter w/ low frequency and high resonance. Then I routed the LFO to the bandpass filter and set it to a ramp wave form and it sounds kinda close, but something is amiss. Here's a demo of the sound I've made with some quick drums and a sub underneath with little-to-no processing (all I did was slap an EQ on the midrange bass and rolled off some highs and lows). Any suggestions?

Hazey, Lo-Fi, Sensual, pads. Such as

How? I know the mood is more about the chords you play, but whats the best way to replicate the actual sound? Is it just a case of dirtying up a simple waveform? Or are these more sample based?

sounds sample based to me, but thickened using a noise generating oscillator to add some sort of lo-fi white noise or something

Open the brutal electro patch, and try messing with the scream filter, should get you close.

Square wave, daft filter low res with an enveloppe opening it up fast, ring mod 100% pitched up 2. Then in ableton if you have it, about 20pts sinoid fold saturation, output -20.Compress it, then eq to boost up the highs a bit. Then add in some chorus :)
