haha i was just about to make a thread on this, havent been on in a bit.
I got my copy this morning and had a listen before work. Straight away compared to the other vinyls recieved all three records from inner city limits sounded dull.
Lots of bass on all the tracks almost as it they'd done the mixing on really crappy moniters and over compencated. As for the mids and highs they came through quite and muffled. Turning these up on the mixing just enough to what sounds in my opinion "normal" then brough on some slight distortion.
In short the whole albulm of amazing songs sounds as if I'm listening to it from another room. An my systems fairly descent and needles are in good nick.

I read somewhere when Silkie announced his "double album" project that one would loosely represent 'day' and the other one 'night'.
Anyone know if this is actually true? If it is, I reckon it's not unreasonable to assume vol. 1 is the 'day' album. I absolutely love it, and am VERY interested in hearing a "clubbier" variation on the silkie style.

If that's true then yeah I would agree with you 100% that it would be the 'day' album unless the next one goes full bore cliff richard summer holiday style on us all

S.T. Holdings statement..
It has been established there is a fault with the third record (sides E & F). This individual record will be repressed with new masters and stampers. We expect this repress to take approx 3-4 weeks.
All retail customers will be supplied with their quota of replacement third records.
All customers that have bought a copy of “City Limits Volume 1 – Silkie – Deep Medi Musik (medilp002)” please contact your shop, they will in turn supply you a replacement record as soon as it is available.
The sale of record has been put on hold until the repress becomes available. Once repressed, new copies of this title will be sold with the replacement record in addition to the faulty record.
Sorry for any incovenience caused. Thanks for your patience.

Fair enough, thanks for that...sounds reasonable. However, on my (and I know a lot of other people's) copy, it's not just the third disc that sounds wank but the whole lot. the sound quality of the whole album is such that I could never play any of the tunes in a set because they'd stick out quite obviously and on a big system would just sound terrible. Is there anything that can be done about that?

Received this today and it plays fine from start to finish.
Just invest in the CD then think about the vinyl once its been re-pressed which could take a few more weeks or even longer.

@ anyone who bought their copy at Redeye: Our supplier is going to send all our customers replacement copies of the 12" which is badly pressed. This will happen soon and we will put a post on the site to let people know when we have the replacements. Deep Medi will have to get plate 3 re-mastered, which will take up to 3 weeks.
