Hey everyone. I'm more of a rock, indie guy personally however I've recently been getting into some dubstep and am wanting to listen to some more, but I don't really know where to start. Any artists/albums people can suggest? Doesn't have to be particularly mainstream stuff, just anything that's considered 'good' by the forum's standards

I've been listening to some Nedry and Burial, who I think are dubstep, but then I don't really know the niche of the genres so I could be completely wrong on there; but it's a start!

Hey everyone,

I have been working with FLStudio and Pro Tools for about 3-4 years. I produce progressive house, hard-electro, and dubstep tracks (not sure if it is classified as dubstep). I also sing, play guitar, piano, bass, ukulele, drums, and a bunch of weird instruments that people haven't heard of. So, I mix and master my own tracks and covers in my little home studio as well. Music is my passion, and in the past few years, a lot of my interest has shifted to electronic music. I hope to get to know you guys and enjoy some sick music!

Names Adam. 23 year old dude from Ottawa. Always wanted to be a professional athlete but injuries stopped me from achieving my potential. Now it's to my other passion, music. Getting into production with FL Studio and am reading/watching an insane amount.

Speaking of production, how do I make that sick Skrillex wobble? I can't find it anywhere! Just messing with you guys

Hello good people of DSF!

My name is Chris, I'm 17 and from Cornwall in the UK. I first got into dubstep in early 2010 which around where I lived was well before it started to become known of by the majority. I started out listening to Rusko and Caspa (at around the time that they were the "skrillex" of their day) but quickly progressed towards the more underground sound of people like Skream, Benga, Kode9 and the Deep Medi artists. While it was on I also used to listen to Anti social among other shows on Rinse FM- which is where my current obsession with artists such as Kromestar, Silkie and Goth trad.
Other kinds of music I like are Dub, reggae, ska, a little DnB, and a fair bit of Classical as well.
I started experimenting with making electronic music last Febuary, using Reaper and freeware synths. I feel like I'm really progressing technique wise although I always find I struggle a bit to come up with fresh ideas. I'm not really sure what my style is but it's probably most influenced by Kromestar and maybe some of Rusko's early work.
In the real world I also play Violin, Trombone and Chromaic harmonica. If anyone wants any samples of said instruments feel free to get in touch!

Well, first track is not true strictly speaking, as you can probably guess if I've been trying to make music since February I've made a few attempts at tracks before this one. This is first thing I've been happy enough with to put online though. Normally I get stuck at the stage of turning a short drum loop+synths into a full track.

I've been doing this for years. I just finally decided to get me feet wet and join the community and share.

I'm trying something I feel is a little bit different. Something a bit melodically heavier than I think what people are used to. (ie. less wobble, more rock).
