Despite it being drum and bass tempo and the track being predominantly drums and bass... For some reason I won't allow myself to class this track as drum and bass, I think it may simply be the lack of sampled break... I quite like this track though! Like the Hip Hop sort of snare and the deep kick... The entire track seems to be lacking higher frequencies which is making it seem a bit muddy though, seems like you have placed a LPF on everything including the hats...
The track has a really nice feel and a really nice use of instruments too... Just needs some high frequencies in there to stop it seeming so muddy!
thanks yeah, its my first real drum & bass tune so i wasnt really paying attnetinom to frequencies lol my bad. i wanted a darker feel to it so i lowered the pitch of the alot of the instruments which would probably explain alot.
Immense build up, amazing use of instrumentation, all in all a wicked tune that I really enjoyed! There was just one thing that I feel let it down, a nice big long sub bass note on the drop just to fill it out, I felt it really needed that and the track seems to be crying and waving at it like it's missing it badly!

Hey man, this is a nice tune but I don't think it would have done any harm to lose the plinky plonk synth on the first drop and just have the drum, bass and little fx motif sounds for a while... Other than that, nice track though!

Thanks for your honesty! I actually made a version a little while ago that did just that, and was also about 45 seconds shorter...I think I might just upload that one and give it away for free, since I don't really have enough confidence in the tune to give it to any labels.
Any thoughts on this? It sounds kinda amateur to me, but I can't tell if that's because I've just heard it too much, or it's my first tune in Cubase, or it was pretty much conceived as a tool for my live sets.
