I can agree that there can be some soul put into brostep, but usually that's more just an energetic feeling it conveys, or a happier one. The chill side goes for serious depth though, hitting on emotions that the brostep spectrum can't even glance. That's why I like it, them vibes.

My mind has been changed on how they are different. And I prefer dubstep over brostep. But out of the forums I will continue to call them both dubstep, because I'm too lazy to explain what brostep is to people.

any discussion thread about brostep vs other turns sour quick. if you like it, cool. if you don't, cool. shouldn't really go much further

Yeah, he gave it away for free a while back.
His remix for Starry Eyed is better though:

My point was, you don't see X artist with 20k posts here. They figured out their niche and then WENT INTO A HOLE AND MADE TUNES. I didn't have a listen as I was posting from work. he may or may not be a good artist. That's irrelevant to the entire point here.
Genre is just so dumb. Yes, we want to be able to broadly categorize music. That in itself is human nature and will never be ridden. However, once you have reached the point of bickering over genre. YOUR TIME IS NOW BEING WASTED. It's just trivial. If it's good it's good, if not it's not. Lump it into whatever "genre" list you have in your head and move the fuck on to your own stuff. Ya dig?

Just trying to lighten the mood from the whole "Brostep vs Dubstep" argument though

you should all grow up, heavier stuffs hard to make well just as its challenging to make good deeper stuff. the common demoninator being, IT IS HARD TO MAKE ANY STYLE OF MUSIC WELL, BUT IT IS EASY TO MAKE ANY STYLE OF MUSIC.
