Which suggests theyve had some kind of encouragement from the player or his agent

I'm not being snide here but I am genuinely interested how you feel if Arsenal stride out with Suarez

I'd like to upgrade this from "tut tut" to a "pssscchhhhh" and a wanker sign.
At least we'd have a single point of blame for anything and everything that goes wrong for the year. Racist c unt is only good to be a scapegoat these days.

I still wouldn't like the guy but I could support him while he's on the pitch. There's never been any chance of it happening though, Arsenal are just wasting their time..

apart from the scoring goals bit
This may be unfair but is it worse to stand by a player that's been accused of being a racist tnuc or signing one? I'm really not angling for an argument here and you're more than welcome to tell me to fuck off but I'm interested in how we reconcile what we believe to be right with our football clubs. Fwiw I think you'll drop the idea he's racist if you sign him and you wont if you don't. This wont make you a hypocrite either just a football fan.

We stood by a player that got convicted of drink driving and spent a season in jail...
I'm still not completely sure what it was he actually said to Evra, a lot of Liverpool fans still maintain it was some Argentinian word that isn't seen as racist over there

Standing by a known racist is bad, but it'd be worse to sign one by a long chalk. If Arsenal sign him I will at the very least write a letter and at most join some sort of protest outside the ground if I hear of one being organised.
I will most certainly not stop calling him a racist, but hopefully you won't get a chance to test that.

I think you may because I think you'll be more invested in actually determining whether he is. I know you don't think he's black enough and I apologise for bringing this up again but when someones previous two generations are mixed race and the product of inter racial marriages it may be that our understanding is limited.
My bad and apologies again

He said Negro, it was reported as Negrito which is Spanish, Evra confirmed it was negro.

Tbh, I don't really think black people should call enough other the n-word either, but if you have *any* chance of being misunderstood, it's best to not use racist language in public even if your intentions aren't racist. That includes insulting someone whilst invoking race "You black c unt" is just as bad as "You n-word". If Theo Walcott called someone a "white piece of shit", I'd also think he was a racist.
Whatever he intended, Suarez convinced the world he's a racist; if he's not a racist, he's *dangerously* stupid and arrogant... which also bears out in how he seems to treat the clubs he plays for. Another reason I wouldn't be especially happy to see him sign for Arsenal - a club that trades heavily on its "polite, middle-class friendly image".
I'm not as partisan as you're assuming I am, I don't think. I love Arsenal, but I'm more than happy to criticize them where necessary. It's only a football club. I don't own shares, a season ticket or even a current shirt.

You're not an English football fan if you don't spend more time criticising your own club than any other club.

I had a dream we got promoted last night then wake up and no we have actually signed some massive trundler from Oldham and Noel Hunt
on suarez, i like him because he plays brilliant football with a smile on his face, and because he doesn't give a shit if you boo him. He can be a racist in his own time and i dont really care.

Players can be racist at home all they want and im sure plenty are, bur he bought it onto the pitch with millions of kids watching. And We havnt even mentioned his diving, biting, deliberate hand balls yet..

Well the diving is bad and all but he's hardly the only culprit. The biting was just really funny more than anything- I doubt kids up and down the country will suddenly find it acceptable.
Same deal for the racism really except loads fans are so hypocritical about this: every other match I go to I hear some form of racist abuse from the stands. When Leeds played Chelsea last year, some fans were time singing anti Turkish and anti Irish songs then having a go at Terry for abusing Ferdinand. I think the whole affair got blown up simply because everyone is so partisan, all the Man U fans or whatever latched onto it as a way to have a go at Liverpool.
Football should just be about football and the joy of watching what are often quite stupid players playing what is a competitive game, not some political example for the rest of society. yes he racially abused someone and he got punished (pretty harshly imo) that sends an example to "the children" so everyone can just get over it and enjoy the football.

So according to Marca, Bale is joining Real Madrid on a 6 year contract
Spurs are gonna crash and burn without him

Is there a reported fee? Levy seems pretty smart like and I doubt they wont reinvest it well.

Not as far as i can tell. Surely it can't be less than what they paid for Ronaldo.
Also spurs just signed a left winger from Twente yesterday....

Marca can't be trusted, especially when they're talking about players madrid are after

if they can get 60m + for Bale I think they probably should, it's the kind of fee that appropriately reinvested could make them a better team. It's going to be very fucking tough for Liverpool to make top 4 from here
