Statistically speaking, they are rich white people and the current drama over abortion rights (along with a whole host of other shit) leads me to believe they are evil.

Horribly stupid = doesnt agree with you

All the people you mentioned are incredibly successful leaders and have accomplished 10000x more than you ever will...

this "stupid" idea is SO annoying... you must think you are REALLY FUCKING SMART bruv

Paul Ryan:

Ryan is a graduate of Miami University in Ohio.

He worked as an aide to legislators Bob Kasten, Sam Brownback, and Jack Kemp, and as a speechwriter before winning election to the U.S. House in 1998.

He is currently the chairman of the House Budget Committee.

Ryan has been reelected six times, never receiving less than 63 percent of the vote.

Lets see what youve done with your life, you are obviously MUCH more intelligent

He's also never sat on any board, only has management experience of his own office, and has no foreign policy experience...and being a Republican in Wisconsin isn't exactly difficult work. Show up at a few Packers games and you're laughing,

I agree with this sentiment...though tbh having Romney as the candidate has not done this notion any favours.

I agree with this also...but going from softly softly to (what I perceive as) Ryan's proposed slash & burn is too far in the other direction.

open your eyes, read a different newspaper or channel, dont be so gullible

no side is 100% right or wrong.

I dont think Obama is "stupid" or "evil" I just think he has bad ideas, and I think the last 4 years its pretty obvious that his fix for the economy hasnt worked

you're just as much a parrot as anyone, listen to the bullshit you're spouting
fuck Ryan's election history, look at his voting history
no one who's intelligent enough gives a fuck about a speech writer, career politician who's done nothing with their life but sit on committees to attract federal and state grants
wow, a sportsmen's committee

just an aspiring member of a boys' club who's used to controlling all the wealth in this country
We want scientists, engineers, and doctors
not some fuckwit who's been given a bunch of pats on the back from everyone around him who is exactly like him

everything you listed is irrelevant as it's nothing but acknowledgments from a single group of people
who are all rich and white

being a speech writer, wow... so you get paid to make people sound genuine and altruistic for them by manipulating their feelings

He's done nothing with his life. Career politicians are scumbags.

and if you think 4 years is enough time for Obama to magically fix the economy, whilst the entirety of congress meets with nothing but blatant obstructionism in the name of their party above any progress or service to the american people, you're a stupid tnuc whose political ideas are meaningless

Climax, just why are you happy supporting a party that is so brazen in it's misrepresentation of facts (to put it extremely kindly)? In addition, the entire theme of your recent convention was based around part of a quote made by President Obama taken out of context. It's almost beyond satire. I know that there's an element of this in ALL political parties, but it seems that during this campaign the party you align yourself with has taken it to an unprecedented level. How do you justify it, and is there much being done from within the party to stop it?

My main issue with conservatives (small c, I'm British) is pretty simple. The idea that "wealth creators" (read: rich people) should be taxed less in order that they will create jobs, pay higher wages and provide better working conditions just strikes me as absolutely mental. I've worked with businessmen all my life, have owned businesses and currently work for an Investment Bank, so I'm not scared of capitalism in the slightest, but I am pretty confident that you can't rely on the rich to do the right thing any more than you can rely on the poor... if a nation wants any chance of achieving a fairer society, it has to redistribute income at source using tax and spend... it can't leave the responsibility at the door of occasional-philanthropists and the like - sure, some will always emerge, but not enough and certainly not reliably enough.

That logic underpins fiscal conservatives the world over... when it comes down to it, their policies on "today's problems", their religions, their ability to make speeches and their sexual histories are largely irrelevant. If a politician thinks about the world in terms of rich people saving the day then I don't need them anywhere near a Government building.

Also, Climax - why is it ok for you to "agree to disagree" with wub, but for everyone else to be gullibly following the liberal media conspiracy? You're not doing yourself any favours with rhetoric like that. I'm not sure if you've ever been around for political/economic discussions around here... but most people's opinions around here are actually pretty well thought out, no matter what they believe.

It's not even ideological bias making me laugh at Ryan either, it's just straight up hilarity. Dude's made himself a laughing stock overnight by lying so much that his party's effective mouthpiece, Fox News even had to tear him apart... it took Palin months to get such broad disapproval! :Q:

it's been proven time and time again, rich people don't create jobs
consumers do
we need a "trickle up" economy

Interesting article. For all Romney's showing off about being perfect for the Presidency due to his business qualifications and experience, there's only one previous President with an MBA... a certain, Mr George W. Bush.

A degree in, well... and I'm thinking out of the box here... but... politics or economics is probably a bit more of an appropriate start.
A quick scan of the professions of former presidents provides some striking lessons. There are two occupations which predominate–law and the military–while business, farming and academia are distant also-rans.

...

Where business is an autocracy, governance relies on the consent of the people. Where a corporate chief executive runs an enterprise at his personal whim (more or less, depending upon the nature of his Board of Directors), the president in our democratic system has two coequal branches of government with which to contend. A business exists to sell something to people; a government exists to provide essential services to people.

I don't either, but he's still too far to the right for me anyway.
But it took longer than 4 years to fail, and it sure will take a lot longer than 4 years to fix. People expect too much too soon.

Maybe I'm just a slut for Clinton but i always say Americans should repeal the 22nd amendment and bring him back

He was like a fucking wrecking ball tearing down every single argument Republicans have built against Obama in the past few years. All backed up with hard numbers and facts.
