My housemate and her boyfriend took tortoises they bought at a Tunisian market back home in their hand luggage. That's much worse than trying to take knives.

A mate of mine took a joint in his luggage to New York, US customs would've fucked him over if he got caught.

Yeah my gfs sister brought back two machetes from Borneo in her filght case. The holders had her names and boyfriends names carved into it and now the have these things just floating around the house
