@mthrfnk : Punchy track, I like this guitar riffle ;) Watch out for paning effects, be more gentle with it. Mixdown needs to be finished ;)

@bodom418 : Long intro is long ! Good ideas on it, but mixdown isn't perfect, it sounds a bit messy. Same thing at the drop, was expecting something more quiet.

@jimbeaux : My suggestion : Finish mixdown, make it sound smooth, add some more percussions, a bit more sub and you're on ;)

@alexvont12 : Your intro is awesome, very nice work on the vocals, but the bassline part disapointed me, you could make a banger if i had to judge only the intro.

@Hakala : Yeah funky thing ! But, did you forgot hats ? I think that's what makes your track moody. Some quick hats / shakers and other percs should make the job. Toms & reverse snares are nice for that too.

My time, tune for the deep headz lurking here ;) Soundcloud

Thx for listening !

Thanks to everyone for the feedback!

@Darj : It's just a preview so I'm going to add some cymbals and percussion to it before I release the full version.

@Darj : really love the dark feel. Seems really clean. Not much bad I can say.

@mthrfnk : I love that riff. Very fun song.

@bodom418 : really interesting sound. Could be a bit louder though.

So ive worked a bit more on my song. Finished the layout. Only a few things need to be changed.

Here is the info from my last post:
"Alright, so about a week ago I starter working on my first ever Electro track. Actually, my first track of any genre that i've ever actually had the willpower to dedicate myself to working on in until it is complete. The arrangement is not finished, along with a good bit of mixing/processing/things/ideas to be added. Please give this a listen. Basically my first track. I hate to be "that guy" who advertises music based on his age, but im only 15, and im dedicating the upcoming years to working on my producing skills, as it is what I want to do for the rest of my life. So please download, listen, and give feedback."

@cubolo: The stuts sound good. Don't really like that high pitched sound at 1:25.. The synth at 4:36 really caught my attention, and the drop following it is tight. The trancey synths and first drop sounded too much like stock trance sounds, but there's some really enjoyable parts of the song :W:

@Darj: Perc is sick! Respect man, this is big.

@mthrfnk: The lead melody's really cool, but I wish the bass did it's own thing instead of follow it. Some subbass bombs and pick ups would be FAT.

Breakstyle glitch hop track I'm working on

@FluidMoShun i like it, try adding some parts where you just glitch the crap out of everything, could sound cool

@daftendirekt try to add some more variation to the bassline, it's kind of the same thing for the whole song atm

i just started with music production about 2 weeks ago, decided to get into creating electro/dubstep kind of music. I'm the kind of guy that works for a long time on a single part before moving on to the next one, so it's just a small loop. i could use some tips on how to make it abit more complex, it feels kind of dull at the moment.

OK here's something new I JUST cooked up honestly in less than 20 minutes.
It's my old BYTE ME Growl I had but I tweaked it a hell of a lot now it became this huge monster... I made this into a drop and I don't know what to do with it, does anyone maybe want to collaborate or give me some tips, etc? I seriously have no clue where to put this or how to improve it. :/

(PS: It's 130 BPM.)

HERE IS JUST THE BASS (and modified talk synth.)

@bytme First, IMHO stay away from Modern Talking. Way overused and I cringe whenenever I hear it in a tune. Also the drums need to come through a little more. But decent melody.
@rasmuss Dude, that actually sounds pretty sick :)
@FluidMoShun I defiantly like it, although the occasional volume fades are kinda distracting.
Here's something I made while I was bored on Vacation (not planning on releasing at all)

thanks to mtherfnk, and Darj for the feedback.

@mthrfnk - hey man this track has alot of energy in it. just add you some cool sounding fx's noises, an noise sweeps here an there. also the mid build is pretty sweet man, just needs a few layers here an there to rise an fall where your patterns come together. not quite dign the yah bass, buut, its always gonna have its place when used just right. keep it up man.

@Darj - intro has lots of tension, very nice pads here. deep drop indeed. those background pads are very nice as well. kinda screechy controlled feedback. the main bass i feel like could be a hair louder, the deep verbed one that kinda sounds like part of the pad layer. just to give a more powerful undertone. its really good though the way it is. i can hear some really organic layers fitting with this, you really know what your doing all around man, very great job on this. props!!

@daftendirekt - track reminds me of the skrillex format. good work here, not quite my style but its got alot of energy, and sounds good. keep it up man.

@fluidmoshun - i remember your tracks always being on a whole other level man, an this one is right up there with the others. very great glitch work. plenty of noises going on, all stiched together quite nicely. i really dig the direction it takes your thoughts when listening to it. very outside the box, i love it man. might i add the drum work in this is awesome.
keep it up man, you've got some really unique work!

@rasmuss - basses sound big in this, just a bit monoish, try to fatten up those basses without affecting your original sound to much and maybe try some unison to spread it out some. very skrillex influenced on this, try some wow filter maybe??

@byteme - got a bit to go on this one man, get some more patterns going on, level out your basses, and bring those drums up. synths aren't bad, but try an arrange them in different ways an have fun with how you can arrange what sounds you have. keep it up.

@rymebox - sounding kinda muddy here. or gritty? lol not sure how to put it. i like how the snare blends in with that mushysound, but there isn't really much to feedback on yet. just make some more patterns an slice them all up an see what happens.

did a very rough mixdown of this again, didn't make any changes to the arrangement, but i think its sounding alot better in terms of quality.... i think. what do you guys think?

Thanks for all the feedback along the way. They really helped me shape this tune :w: I'll toss a finished version w/ 320s up soon :)

@jim: This is badass.. If you made the kick follow the wobbles more (16th note wobbles = 16th note kick hits, etc) it would be sooooo SICK. I quite like what you have so far but it needs an intro/mellow part.

@travis: Dig the old school vibe. The bass and percussion are sweet. I'd say add another main element in the song to bring it all together, tho.

@Rymebox: Fat sound, but since the bass stays basically the same, I'd try varying up the subbass. I'm imaging the subs making some epic chord progressions while that sludgy bass stays the same. Original sound ya got, tho. Keep at it :W:

@rasmuss: Do you have any background in music? This is very well produced for a first track. If you think it sounds dull: Make some more bass synths and jump back and forth between em. That should liven the track up some.

Again thanks for the feedback & SC comments/plays, my feedback for others:

@Darj: Intro percussion is really nice, especially the hits that sound like bottles or metal. The main bass that comes in is good too, really nice and clean. Good overall track, not much else I could suggest.

@daftendirekt: Your vocal processing is really nice. The track build nicely, the little effects you have here and there are good too. The wubwub bass sounds Porter Robinson-esque :P I'd suggest varying it up more than straight wubwubs of the same note. I'd say work on filling the track out more maybe with layered white noise sweeps and widening some instruments in some places just to make it sound really fat. Also, I'd suggest changing the bass at 3:20, the straight yoiyoi is really overused, maybe chop it up and layer it with 2/3 other similar synths with some arpegiator sweeps? For your first electro at 15, it's nice man. Polish it off.

@FluidMoShun: I like glitched up stuff but in some places you track sounds to have too much going on. One thing that I noticed mainly is the main bass that comes in at 1:30 seems out of place and also panned to the right. I'd just recommend etting everything to sit just right with everything else and this could sound sweet. Also when you said sub bass pickups about my other WIP, what does that mean?

@rasmuss: Cool idea, your main bass seems a little over distorted though. Work on that and filling out the rest of the track.

@BYTEME: That bass is nice man, just keep playing around until you come up with something where is sits just right - it would sound good in a glitchy electro house tune.

@travis baker: Percussion and bass sound good man, but it needs another instrument on top to liven things up, not much I can say other than that.

@rymebox: Bass sounds really squelchy :P Could come out as a good track if you do more with it.

@jimbeaux: Sounds cleaner than before, I like the high pitched little riffs you slide in, I didn't notice them before as much. One thing, I'd say switch up the drums more every 8 or 16 bars. Now write an intro and breakdown :P

Some people may remember this WIP, it was 140bpm, but I've slipped it down to 128bpm and added a drop with the main body of the track. I already want to fix a few things with the track - mainly fixing the vocals to sound better and making the main bleepy synth sit better with the bass along with a proper mixdown. Any feedback and tips would be would be awsm :)

@Mthrfnk, I really loved the drum and synth work. Both worked well together and created a bouncy/danceable track. I like the idea of dropping it from 140 bpm to 128.
@Gaol, the melodies were really good for your first few songs. To me, the drums sounded really off tempo and weren't loud enough.

Here's my attempt:

I'm already aware my mixing isn't the best.

Thanks like I said I have only been doing this for about 2 weeks now. I really like it though so I'm going to stick to it and learn as much as I can. Hopefully I will get better with time.

Alright guys here is an update of my track. Now I feel it is complete arrangement wise. But first I need some tips on the mixing so that I can make it sound as good as possible before sending it to get professionally mastered. Thanks.

Daftendirekt:
Sounds cool.. Regarding your eq'ing/mix.. which in itself is quite hard to tell, because of your "premaster".. :)

The kick seems a little too bright.. with the stacked dry mono clap, it makes the arp, saw sc pads, and bass sounds muddy..
- You should either make everything else brighter, or just simply remove some 4-7 KHz in the kick.. around 2-5 db.. You should definitely look in the 120-250 Hz area of the kick too.. to get more punch.. if you need the "hitting me" the 700 Hz - 1,2 KHz should be tammed too.. :i:

.. The "yao" coming after second drop.. I would turn it down a little.. remove about 1,5-2 db at 5 KHz..

.. The arp.. It sounds really "high midrange" like.. if that's the effect you're looking for.. cool.. but think you should remove a little high midrange to make it blend more with the elements..?

.. Do you use sidechain only as effect on pads and stuff, or also gently on elements?.. :)

I changed a couple things like volume of some noises and the drums. I tried my hand at EQing and mastering a little bit. I think it sounds better than my first attempt
