if ppl are actually being serious about telling them apart by the tone of their skin i should say that there are a lot of very light skinned black nigerians just as im sure there are lots of darker skinned black americans

It's most definitely not, but you only have to look at a single family to realise that skin tone is a very random occurence. My girl and her two sisters are all entirely different tones... they've all got the same two Af/Am parents. My Dad's a lot more 'olive' skinned than any of his kids... or his own father and mother for that matter.

You can't second guess genetic mixology.... only appreciate what it creates.
