It was a comedic reference to how I would change the rules (for completely my own benefit and to the detriment of the forum and thus reflecting on my views of changing the rules of posting pics or links to inappropriate material and the subsequent prediction of you suggesting that we indeed change this rule). Also, changes have been made before solely off suggestions made by members, but they have to be 1. not fully retarded, 2. for the benefit of everyone, 3. get approved by the majority and the stakeholders of the site.

It's just about having a bit of consideration really. Mods aren't perfect, so sure, some stuff slips through the net, but generally if you've been here a while you know that a LOT of the traffic is from people logging on from work. It says NSFW, but if you want to be nice to your mates you'll probably exercise a tiny amount of personal decorum... a conversation about drugs doesn't fill someone's monitor with something that can be seen across an entire room, it's just text - your boss doesn't notice text unless you send it to him in an e-mail... a picture of a guy's ass flashing up on your screen attracts a tiny bit more attention.

It's pretty simple, really... would you really want this place to be tumbleweed during the day just so that you can have somewhere to repost man-ass from other forums?

This is it, the crux of the rules imo. For the poster, it's such a minor thing, a fucking link or pic on a forum on the internet. But for someone else it *could* be genuinely offensive, disgusting, get them disciplined at work and so on. I'm certainly not for purging the forum of all vaguely risque imagery or humour, but there are COUNTLESS forums, facebook, twitter and so on to post that shit on. There's a facebook group *dedicated* to slagging off the forum and it's mods whom which would welcome your every carnal desire in gif format, no doubt.

My own personal views are that I don't want to see all that shit, someone fucking an xbox, or someone getting their fucking eye cut open. If I did, I'd sign up to NeoGaf, 4Chan, or load up Pornhub (more). It is genuinely beyond me why the more vocal members of DSF always bemoan the 'iron fist of seckle' or alike, if you don't like it, then go somewhere that does, it's the internet, these places exist.

As for the drugs stuff, again, PERSONALLY I think it's probably more related to dubstep and dance music in general than having a gif showing a flapping minge with googly eyes photoshopped on it. So I haven't modded it (plus again, I hadn't seen it). My interpretation of the rules, yup. It'll probably get edited or removed at some point in the future, especially now you have brought it up and highlighted it breaking the rules. So well done Johney, I hope you're happy.

Big up Pete, I don't really care, like you say, there's places where you can go and see that stuff (btw, if the eye cutting gif is the one I'm thinking of, it's from the film Un Chien Andalou, it's not the woman's eye, it's a dead cow's eye), I'm just genuinely surprised the drug stuff is just ignored, especially as seckle was always talking about google search bots and the harm adult content might do to the site. Surely there's gotta be laws against discussing how to get high with someone that can't vote for another 4 years
