SKIN E wrote:This thread is gold :) love how so many people are blinded by "fashion" and what celebrities wear, all looks utter shit and everyone but your "homies" and other uneducated monkeys will laugh at you, it is sad, it is not art, you do not hang it on your wall to look at. You wear it to look good yet in reality you look complete shit.
possibly one of the most idiotic things ive read on here in a while

first off fuck a celebrity

second, because YOU dont like it, its shit? somehow these designers are incredibly successful still, despite your projections of how the majority of the world would laugh at anyone who wears something different than skate brands, primarks, or whatever other kinds of wrinkle in time looking shit is out there in every convenience store.

i really think you just dont know what you are talking about. a lot of clothing these designers make aren't even sold for the public. they are PIECES OF ART. i was just in chicago at the art institute and their brand new installment was fashion and the impressionist era. they had full pieces of clothing beautifully displayed in their own spaces, tying each room you walked into with the art that was also displayed by artists like manet, monet, pissot, geraud, and gauguin. fashion and its influences on each artist demonstrated how the two intertwined within each other. saurat's a sunday afternoon on the island of grande jatte was massively influenced by fashion. it is fashion. now get your uneducated ass out of the thread.

looking good is completely objective, if you personally think something looks good on you then it looks good

I was going to say something positive about an article that I read
about Donna Karen having a favorite type of jewelry right now...

But I am feeling self conscious about being excessively positive...

You've apparently never met my girlfriend. She'll get through several outfits whilst spending the day by herself at home. Sometimes she'll just nip to the bathroom and change her clothes because she's bored of looking down at the same top. She likes dressing up. It's a hobby learning how outfits are created and how certain lines and colours work together... in the same way that I trawl hiphop blogs for new rap records, she trawls Swedish fashion blogs looking for new tops... it's exactly the same pursuit.
Does she throw the old outfit in the wash?
Who does the washing?

I do the washing at home and I wouldn't allow that.
I usually wear 2 to 3 outfits a day tbh, I don't know why though :(

I don't throw it in the wash tho, I usually hang those shits back up

Hopefully laundry tips for the uninitiated,
Over washing dark colours will inevitably shorten the lifespan of your fave garms causing fades, no stains, no shame, air it out and hang it back up, same goes for denim. If you smoke, air them outside then fabreeze that shit.
It also causes bobbling of wool fabrics if you machine wash them too much.
