lets all stop moaning.

essentially too many peoples turned up at the same time.

no ones fault.

yes it could have been handled better with fabric style gated ques but this wasnt there. it was the same as when fwd hit the end, the ques were madness then, people were jumping ahead and that, i qued for over 2 hours.... whos fault is that? the people? the end? surely you cant blame soulja again.

was a good night. my onlyy gripes were the 3am lock off (i have nearly a scores worth of drink tokens left) and the lack of set times on display. all good tho, was still an enjoyable event.

maybe the fcuk ups will encourage every one to start reaching other dubstep nights. i hope so because a lot of people like moaning about soulja and that but still carry on supporting them. theres been a lot of negative energy being banded around over soulja for the various things they are supposed to have done wrong but with out them, it is arguable that dubstep wouldnt be what it is now. they have supplied us with labels, radio and nights.

we'll see what happens with regards to rowdy ques, waiting times and what not when it comes to the big apple party. who fault could it be then?

Im not saying they could have tried to better prepare for it, maybe used 2 entraces or something, one for tickets and one for non tickets but other than that, what could have been done... not a lot.

lets try not to hate too much.

You know, I wasn't there but I really hate it when people try to tell others to put up and shut up.

Maybe you didn't have to travel very far. Maybe you've got money and Friday nights and good times to piss away. Doesn't mean other people don't have real grievances.

Actually I support your right to moan about the moaning, so I'm going to moan about you moaning about the moaning!

Wasn't there but sounds like a complete shambles on the door- and the crowd being pissed off most certainly IS the responsibility of Fwd/ whoever the promoters are...

There are too many problems with these legal 'warehouse' parties to make them a decent night out You're basically trying to legitimise a raw, off limits space so that you can advertise it freely as a 'warehouse' party. So in the end, you don't have the freedom of an unlicensed warehouse party, and end up sacrificing the mod-cons of a proper club (im not talking about table service- i mean enough bogs/ fully supplied bars/ proper sound/ licenses that are permanent/ queue arrangements).

So you just end up having a sub-standard night out. I feel for Fwd cos they tried to to put on a different party and alot probably got lost in translation between what they wanted and what the venue owner wanted. We had this problem when we've done temporary licensed parties- you cant crank the system cos they are worries about the coucnil getting on their arse, and need to cover their set up costs by charging alot at the bar/ on entry.

Everything at the moment seems to be a secret shoreditch warehouse location- if you are into techno these nights are everywhere- in fact moreso than club nights! But they are standardly overpriced and overrated- if its not a proper unlicensed one (free party) a la dubstep afterhours/ Main Yard then sign me up to going to a club instead- at least you know what you are gonna get.

Yeah actually your post has made me reconsider the whole night. It was quite possibly the best night of my life, the organisation was totally slick, the beer kept flowing all night and every DJ I wanted to see was on point till sun rise...

There are so many other nights on in the city that manage to get it on point every time, including the normal weekly fwd, so there is no point pretending that Friday wasn't a complete sham from (a very belated) start to (a very early) finish.

The way I expected it to be run was that people with tickets would pick them up from Plastic people, walk over to the other location and get in through one door/queue and those without tickets would buy them from Plastic people also. That way they could have had a proper queue outside Plastic and anyone who turned up at the warehouse would have had a ticket.

The jokest thing was- when they asked for our names and they wernt on the list, we replied: we just bought them before we headed out- when did you print this list?

"Earlier today about 2pm"

Hmmm i think there may be some slight correleation?

But cant really complain- we were in there soon after. What was even wierder was when i got in there it was pretty empty.
