There's this site called Listia where I got $50 worth of steam games (if they were all at full value). If any of you don't mind signing up, use my referral link so I can get some extra credits please. Help a fellow ninja out.

https://www.listia.com/signup/7363013
You have to make a listing of an item though, just put some cheap steam item or maybe some plant seeds as everyone there sells it

I picked some parts for my brother's new computer. He wants to be able to play the
new releases for like the coming 3 years. Need someone to comment on the following
choices:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K, 3,5 GHz
GPU: Nvidia (Asus) GTX750TI-PH-2GD5
Memory: 8GB DDR3 1600

I'm gonna be putting it together with him, but I don't know anything about requirements for
current and coming games. It'll run Windows 7 from SSD.

If the computer is for games GPU is top priority, I'd go with a GTX 970, its a pretty good value.

If he wants to play at high resolutions (4k etc) you should wait until some cards with 8gb of vram come out. More expensive, but pretty much required. Should be out within the next month.

I'm not sure if a 4gb memory gpu is necessary. That 970 is over €200 more expensive than
my pick. You could well be right though, I'll look into something better.

I'd like to power the whole thing with 500 watts though.

Some of the new games like Evil Within already require 4gb vram to play with high textures.

The new consoles got a big video memory boost, so the new multi platform games coming out in the next few years will probably take advantage of that.

You can run a 970 off of 500watts btw. Honestly maybe tone down the processor and especially the motherboard, case etc and put that money towards the graphics card. The graphics card you linked is not very good.

Imo you should get a Powercolor 9280x or something.
Price for performance is tops with those cards.

The GTX 750TI is entry level really.

I built a computer recently with pretty much no computer knowledge.

Card i used was a Radeon R9 290, just comparing on amazon it was a good £100 cheaper than the equivalent nvidia. I did a bit of research first, seems the only real difference is it makes more noise

My GTA 5 game disc seems to have stopped working. The data disc still recognises in my xBox, but the game disc is unreadable. Can't see any marks on it, have given it a clean, nothing :(

Little gutted about this. Haven't played it since I got Skyrim, but felt like revisiting it for a bit :(

I had that loads on my 360, sometimes it still lets you install the game to the hard drive

It's not giving me the option to do anything apart from eject the game disc when it's in there.

Yeah, I put together my first computer when is was like 15 :) It's rather straightforward.

I'm looking into better video cards now. I'd say the i5 3.4ghz is already a toned down option
for a cpu.

The cpu is just fine as your main limitation will be the GPU bottle necking the cpu.
Get a good GPU and you're set.
The Powercolor Radeons cannot be beaten from a price to performance standpoint.

Depends on the game RE: CPU, something like ArmA for example uses more CPU than GPU
But you can get a lot of mileage out of a i5 and some overclocking.
