When a site I watch NFL games on got blocked, five different domains popped up for it.

Most ISP's block sites by just changing the DNS record for the site on their servers. Use Google DNS and you can bypass it.
Other option: get a VPN for less $40/year. Done with all the bullshit of ISPs and free crappy proxies.
