That's rrly the type of night I need to go to more often. Dark basements with dirty techno. A nice break from all those distorted kickdrums and triplet snares.
Congrats on your show though. I used to host my own night and it's a ton of fun.

cheers, it was really fun actually. and 80 was a decent turnout tbf yeah
ended up losing about £40 myself on flyers/posters which is pretty peak but next time think we're gona have to make a lot less to cover venue costs... so we'll hopefully make it back in future

The startup is always the hardest part, that's where you "make" fans. But when you have a reliable fanbase that gets you close to break-even every time, or even better BREAKS you even, then you're gonna have a successful party.
80s not bad for first night! i actually like tech house well some of it at least, theres a lot of shit techhouse out there, just like every genre i guess.
my mates started a night when we were at uni and word of mo uth got round very quickly and by the third ni ght it was absollutely ram packed
dark bamsenets are fucking great man, not evenough clubs are dark and dingey as fuck these days. i dont wanna be all illuminated when im off my tits ravin :/
was in this club in glasgow last week called sub club or sub dub or something, real dindgey basement but pretty cool too. needed some fookin aircon though. sankeys was the best for the aircon...sucks balls that its gone now )-:

yeah i don't get all the kneejerk tech house hate you see, guess there can be some pretty stale shit tho.
and yeah the dark basement vibe's definitely the one, this venue used to have some dodgy greebo shit on the walls but now it's just bare bricks so it looks sound. one of the guys who played said it reminded him of sub club actually
