The only thing I could see this drug being useful for is after a serious emotional shock that is so sever that feeling nothing at all is better than feeling the pain.

hmm i'm pretty anxious most of the time so whenever i take valium it's always a nice break, but you are a zomby for the next day fo sho

I'm a little high strung, so you'd think that a chill pill would be nice sometimes, but... for whatever reason, anything I've experience (which is limited, admittedly) doesn't feel good.

Thinking further: its like I've got so much work to do, so much to improve, I'm only happy when I'm progressing. If I'm sitting still doing nothing, it is like a huge sin/waste. If those pills hit the pause button AND made me feel good, yeah, I'd be down.

I work night shifts, winter is the worst, you go to work and it's dark, finish work and it's dark. Maybe see a bit of dawn as you go to bed, wake up and you have maybe half an hour of light or something if you wake up in time for it.

ironically temazepam is one of the most abused benzos like right next to xanax. but i understand why you hate it. i've taken valium a couple times in the past and i absolutely hated it. it made me feel so like restricted and I was trying to fight it. for example they used it to put me out when i got my wisdom teeth removed, and when i woke up i felt like such shit, really confused, just wanted to feel normal. never taken temazepam though. i imagine it's useful for insomnia! would never recommend any of these drugs for anxiety or anything else really besides sleeping and maybe like seizures or some shit. using it to solve your problems will eventually catch up to you.
