Copped Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition for £3.74 on the steam sale on the advice of Wub, really broke so its gonna be my only purchase of the entire sale, looking forward to it!

As I've said, install all the DLC from the start. Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, Lonesome Road and Dead Money are mission add on packs, but Couriers Stash and Gun Runners Arsenal are item packs...Couriers Stash in particular should give you some halfway decent weapons to start with.

they're all installed as standard I believe so I'll check they are, then get started. Havent got much to do until these schools get back to me

Prepare to sink a couple weeks easy into nv.
It's well worth it.
The dlc are excellent as well.
