yes, though there arent very many vinyl based dnb djs any more.

i rarely ever see any house heads spin vinyl, unless its maybe somd deep deep house &/or a "classic" house set etc.

there have been a few people saying this... no one has ever seen this done? i think its a great idea as well.

Yeah, vinyl's definitely nicer. I suppose it comes down to disposable income. I used to spend a fortune on records - like £100 a month or something when I didn't have much else to spend it on. If I did that now I'd have no beer money.

I don't take music for free because I want to support the artists but...I've got a family and a mortgage now. MP3 tracks and albums / compilations on CD are a good compromise.

I agree about download codes though. Good idea.

and ban unmastered mp3's in the club. no amount of EQing can turn an unmastered mess into something thats ready to be run through amps and crossovers. its painful to the ears, and trust me, it doesn't go unnoticed. also, it gives people using serato a bad name. blame the unmastered file and the dj, but don't blame serato.

Buy loads and get sent a fair few each month. 12,000 over 2 houses and counting.......

all i buy is vinyl, the only mp3s I have are ones that producers give away for free. I cant use digital because i dont have a cd deck would be alot cheaper easier to use mp3s but im glad i use vinyl! even though for the last 3 years all my money has gone on vinyl, going out, or eating

Exactly. A legacy. When you hand your children a 500gig hard drive full of music, where is the connection to history? Thats the disconnect for me. Vinyl has a history, and by default people treat history with love and care.

I recently switched from digital to vinyl, I love the feel and everything about vinyl but my pocket does not. I'm not mad for having a huge collection, I only did it so I can start using vinyl only labels, DMZ, Deep Medi etc etc. Best of both worlds then.

Totally agree. I want my kids to find my collection of vinyl and cds in the loft one day and go "raaahhhhh" is this what dad listened to.

I love buying records that have a ragged sleeve or writing on them, it gives a greater sense of history and time.

Why has this record got this written on it, what does it mean, who wrote it, who owned it, where has has it been played ?

If I had the balls Id sell my CDJ's, buy some Technics and just buy vinyl.

I have so many records, I don't have space for any more, yet I still make room.
I definitely love vinyl above any other format. Unfortunately, digital allows me to release up 'n coming artists with less financial risk.

P.S. - All future vinyl releases from any of my labels will include the download link. Glad to see that was such a prominent view represented here. It makes total sense. You can't replace the feeling of vinyl, but if you can get the digital format along with the vinyl, why not? Cheers.

It's one thing to have a high quality MP3, but it's another thing to be able to smack someone in the face with a round disc of vinyl... You score more points if it's a good track.
