I have the Sennheiser HD380s. I love em. Really comfortable, portable, flat response. If I was going to get anything else at that price range I would probably go with the Beyer Dynamics DT770. Those are really comfortable just not as flexable.

I tryied the 380's prior and felt really underwhelmed with them. I also tryied the 280's that sound solid when amped but dead without an amp. The size of the 280's doesnt help matters either.

loud, amazing sound definition, neutral I mean not coloured in any frequencies
The loudness can save you from a weak mixer preamp when you are playin live and the sound definition is just amazing for you to check lil' details in your mixdowns
Tried others and every time am disappointed
only HD25 is pleasing me and also a lot of pro sound engineers in different areas like sound editing for advertising or movie making ; technicians taking sounds for journalists and TV broadcast ; studio mixing and ofc dj's and producers
It means something imho
This.. Sometimes the headphones annoy me.. Because they are so nice for monitoring that you even hear the tiniest mistakes in your mixdown.
I use them for producing together with monitor speakers. Really sick cans man!

AKG aren't industry standard at all but nevertheless I got some AKG K181's for about £70 which are nice. Can get uncomfortable if you're wearing them for a while but the sound quality's pretty sweet

Audio Technica ATH-M50s.
Try them, you won't want any other headphones in the price range.

defo the sennheiser over the akg, the difference is night and day in both depth and response. after 10 years of djing and trying everything under the sun, i can safely say that the sennheiser hd25s are the best dj headphones out there. and that hd800 is probably the best studio quality headphone you can get w/o spending upwards of 10 thousand americans. however, for the money, the sennheiser hd555 retails around 400 and u can find em on ebay for 100ish used if youre lucky, and that is by far the best thing in its price range. whatever you decide to choose, what you need is an open design speaker on your cans so you can hear the bass correctly. also, you should start caring about the highs if you are going to try and produce official sounding shit in any genre. good luck!

If you are looking for cheap clear sound and lots of Bass then go for the 60€ Sennheiser HD 212 Pro.

Thats exactly what I said, I want to find the step up from these. They are extremely light, clean bass but does suffer on the highs and past 3 hours of listening becomes kind of meh.

3 hours of listening on headphones... hope youre taking a break. Poor Cilia...
You cant skimp on headphones and expect "good sound for dubstep". You just get good headphones and get good sound.

This kind of gives you an idea as to how much music I listen too. I find myself often on other people's computers where I am unable to install programs or plug in an external HDD. Because of this I need a website that has music and ability to save songs. This also makes it hard to utilize an amp. If possible I'd love to find a pair of headphones not needing an amp and able to be worn for extended periods of time.

Thanks to this thread I bought a paid of HD 25s, upgrading from shitty $50 computer speakers and a 10 W sub. You guys are the shit, best $100 I've ever spent.

I 2nd that, myne have lasted me years, solid drivers with a good frequency range. The only problem i have with them is the cable needs replacing every so often.

From what I understand, Beyerdynamic DT-770 features exceptionally booming bass. Try them out. Let me know how it goes, alright?
I also understand that Denon AH-D2000 (and higher models if your budget fits) will present thick, clean, warm bass, but they may be more difficult to drive (power).
I highly recommend you employ the search function on
