i'm sorry but i'm not gonna play favorites and dig about different sites for files just because someone doesn't want to take 5 mins to follow some simple instructions
if that offends someone, oh well
i'm going through multiple files from multiple people and i'd rather spend my time listening and deciding than wasting time bouncing between different dropboxes and people who can't name files or have no contact info via aim or email

Deadly might have a bit on an attitude. I gave up on making people conform to my standards and honestly I got tired of downloading huge packs of 320's only to find it's all garbage. I just take a link to soundcloud these days and the old I'll call you, don't call me. Anyway my soundcloud dropbox gets ignored too fwiw. It's not attitude it's just a fact.

No need to go on a next hype! I did read the post, so don't presume when you have not grounds on assumption ... and i quote " drop box in sig" so i was assuming it was your soundcloud drop box. You don't have a yousendit drop box in your sig; if you wanted to make to clear you should have added URL links.
My email address written in the bottom of the message, i wrote my forum name too, and lastly you had my soundcloud page from that. What more do you want... My home address, postcode, mobile number?
Don' try make me look like a fool on a public forum behind your computer, if you have got an issue (s) then speck appropriately.

cheers,

It doesn't mention formats or file naming in the first post?
whoops prolly somewhere in the thread, lemme find it and edit to this post :p
doh thought this was combined with old post which it wasn't
http://dropbox.yousendit.com/DeadlyHabit
artist name - tune name (aim or email contact addy)
320 cbr mp3 or wav or flac
for format
added to the first post since it apparently is too much work to read a 3 page thread
nothing personal against anyone, as it bothers me no matter who does it
if my "attitude" or anything like that bothers people, don't send me tunes, simple as that

That's just being ignorant by saying it's "too much work to read 3 pages". If you have made a thread regarding sending songs to a person or label, you would read the first post and that's it, because the others would be things such as "sent" which would be irrelevant, and i would not obtain any new information from reading such things.
It's not like if someone makes a thread regarding a video from a producer showing what and how he does his things. In that situation you would read the full thread because the other post are discussing the video. Making a thread about a demos, is not a dissuasion, it's a statement, so why would i want to read the full thread?
P.S it's petty useless for me now to send a demo.

hey man i bet you are getting some real heaters with that attitude LOL.
as much as I respect your contribution to this board deadly, you are sounding like a proper dick. In reality its not like you or your label are some huge draw so the whole macho "if you don't like it leave"-esque attitude definitely doesnt behoove you, it really is just the icing on the shit cake. I got nothing but love..... but really if you are serious about re-opening your label you would think you wouldn't be acting this way.

sigh i'm making no apologies as everyone save one person actually read the post and submitted em like i asked
considering i'm the one who invests my time and cash into this i will continue to stand by exactly what i said, if someone got their feelings hurt i'm sorry, but i'm not one to sugar coat things
i don't need to do this, but i will explain why i do it this way:
A.) it allows me unlimited transfers and batch downloading, without worrying about downtime
B.) it keeps things organized so i can quickly id a tune and how to contact people
C.) it plays no favorites as anyone who doesn't follow a few simple requests for my convenience gets ignored as in the past my aim folder, soundcloud and even when i had this dropbox in my sig got cluttered with a mess of no id3 tag, wip tunes, no contact info, etc all scattered all over the place and when people would make inquiries i couldn't find the tunes half the time
no offense but this is a business, albeit a small indie one, and it's why up till this point i've been able to host things for free like the sample swap and my blog off the same domain
and honestly as of late i may have a bit of a short temper, when trying to balance a bunch of things, i'm not going to apologize when i don't think i did anything wrong.

I am not one to sugar coat things either and as you have brought this to the public domain you can expect people to have reactions (good and bad).
I read the whole thread. I was not arguing your reasoning for why you are requesting stuff a certain way, I was merely commenting on your attitude. I fully understand how being stressed can lead to a short temper having said that I am sure there a lot of people (including myself) that undertake just as many projects if not more than you. I digress, all I really wanted to mention is that the horse you rode in on is a pygmy and you are acting like its a clydesdale.
I don't think anyone is looking for an apology, no one is offended, you are just coming off a certain way and if it were me I would hope people would mention something, especially if I seemed truly invested in what I was bringing to the public domain. This is like being overly serious about a game of pee-wee baseball or something equally useless.
cheers, i hope this all works out and look forward to hearing what comes next.

Now I appreciate if you objectors are attempting to give DH business advice, because I think he could use it, but put it in those terms, rather than "you and what you are doing are worthless, so drop the attitude." That shit is just rude.
collective wrote:This is like being overly serious about a game of pee-wee baseball or something equally useless.
DH has submission standards, and you can either get with that or you can not. I don't think that it is any ego trip or anything. This is his thing and he's doing it how he wants. Fucking man up and take responsibility for your actions.

Its a shame you have to feel like that, you make some lush tracks.
You'll never have it all your own way Deadly, just the way it goes.
Look at when i used to do those mixes under Dark Matter. Lost count of the times i specifically stated i would only accept reece driven darkness and ambient tracks.
What did i get? Hundreds of Brostep tracks.
Edit: Point being, people only see what they want to see, ie, "Tracks wanted"

they see tracks wanted, but something like this
artist name - tune name (aim or email contact addy) example: Deadly Habit - Pusherman (aim - deadlyhabitdnb email -
admin@tentativerecordings.com).mp3
320 cbr mp3 or wav or flac
for format
saves me problems like this that i even have with even the new batch of no artist name, no contact email or aim to be found with the file (which means i have to go back to yousendit and match the files to an email), or zero id3 tag info
THIS DOES NOT MAKE IT EASY FOR ME TO GET IN CONTACT WITH YOU EVEN IF I DIG YOUR STUFF AND WANT TO SIGN AND RELEASE IT.
as a matter of fact it just becomes downright frustrating especially when it comes down to thoroughly listening to a bunch of material, finding something you dig, only to have it become a complete dead stop in the process to track down info that even without my request you should include when approaching a label or dj.
