I don't think the thread-starter was serious, judging by the slew of sarcastic comments (that most people didn't seem to catch on to) throughout the thread. I understand most peoples roots of hating on southern rap but.... I don't see why this music seems so funny, to a dubstep fan. there are many parallels between the chilled out, bass-heavy, dirty tunes I hear on the radio everyday if you can listen hard enough. I listen to a lot of both, I'm not just making some ignorant comparison
I'm not speaking on crunk tunes or "southern commercial rap" really, more of the slow, sleazy, atl snap or die shit

The clubs and radio stations here play it but unfortunately much of it doesn't end of leaving Atlanta and doesn't make it out onto the commercial musical circuit like crunk did.

Nah that's just Corpsey. He is physically incapable of seriousness, but it doesn't mean he's taking the piss. Uh. Something like that anyway.
I think most people who have posted are genuinely keen on the southern rap. I certainly am, as much as I can be from Scotland anyway. You should post up some reccomendations. If you know loads of good stuff that ain't leaving Atlanta then give it a hand and tell us about it.

yeahhhh project pat! that one sounds mean at 45 too!
yup, wish i had been following this thread, most of the good stuff has already been covered, but just to reiterate, you gotta get the 400 degreez album, also "shine" and "bling bling" by hotbotyz coz they are so classic.
really, tho, the best part about dirty south rap is how accurately it portrays the lifestyle of african americans even here in asheville, north carolina. everyone is in a really good mood coz they make a lot of money selling crack. sometimes there has to be a gun battle or two but everyone understands and its never a big deal.

blend richboy with dubstep. it works well, really. they might just let your mashup ride out in the 'audio' section too, as dozens of refixes have before. as soon as nappy posts it though, it's a problem. jealousy runs rampant.
