I didn't used to like him... but now i've heard so much for so long i recognize his style (simple and slow, almost like the dubstep of rappers, hah! ), which he marketed for retarded americans by the way, He's a genious, he's independent, he's rich... he must be doing something right... quit hating, and talk about some production tips... peace

lil wayne may suck... but you can hardly blame him for the destruction of pop music. i bet he didn't do it on purpose. he was probably just all high on cough syrup in the studio, then he recroded lollipop, and was like

I respect him purely based on the facts that he brings out so much music.
So many rappers shouting "NEW MIXTAPE DROPPING IN 2014!!", but wayne just drops a mixtape every week.
Sure there is a lot of shit, but he has some very good songs as well.

On this mixtapes note, I used to pretty heavly follow Sway DaSafos mixtapes, and he had a one a year tradition. I knew, everytime, without question, that EVERY SINGLE SECOND of it would be completely and totally stunning. When a truly talented MC and producer spends THAT LONG on a mixtape, i.m.o., its pretty bound to be amazing. Im not sure hes kept his mxes up isnce he is recieving so much attention these days, but, you get the picture.

Lil wayne drops one I guess you said almost every week? When a shit mc/producer spends THAT LITTLE time on a mixtape, i.m.o., its bound to be shit. Quality over quanity by far.

The production is not bad on the mixtapes. The beats are just bought from random producers from all around the world using things like beatport/soundclick. The reason why I really appreciate he makes so much music is that he keeps the game going for everone. Lots of collabs with unknown artists. Lots of beatmakers finally earning their first few dollars.
About the quality vs quantity thing... All the mixtapes he releases are just free to DL, he's just supporting a lot of beatmakers, getting unknown names out there. Every year or 2 he drops an album. You can't say The Carter III was a bad album.
I'm not his biggest fan or anything, I just think you lot are way to biased.

How is anyone here biased really? I think everyones heard his music, and isnt talking blindly, so its not that we havent gave him a shot... In my opinion, biased would be if I was a competing record label or something, not just a listener who finds his style of MCing atrocious.
