Pokemon have base stats that determine this sort of thing. Generally speaking you should use those base stats (as well as your planned move set) to determine how you will ev train your pokemon. Unfortunately they've changed what determines a moves usage of either special attack or physical attack. Ie instead of the move type determining the attack type (ghost = sp. attack, fighting = physical attack) it now has to do with the NAME of the attack, ie Shadow PUNCH = physical, Shadow Ball = special attack. Essentially about half of the attacking ghost moves my gastly/haunter/gengar learned where absolute crap because even though his sp. attack is through the roof, most of the moves were utilizing his shitty attack stat. This Generation IV change pretty much makes a lot of my EV trained pokemon from Ruby and Leaf Green redundant.saphyre wrote:bump
Just been getting into EV training, got the macho brace as well FYI for those that dont know trade a drowsee for a machop with the fat japanese guy on the 5th floor of goldenrod shopping centre and the machop comes with it.
A question though, do all stats points when you level up come from EV points? how come when i just kill pokemon that give out hp EV for instance do i still get +2 attack +3 defence etc??
I would but my WiFi wont work. The Nintendo WFC connection is set up properly and works, but the game itself can't connect.Province wrote:any of yous guyz wana trade pal pad numbers for epic battles?

If I had Gold I would do this.NilsFG wrote:Got my WiFI to work and got into that Wifi plaza thing, fucking lame.
You can add friends in your pal pad and go to another place to trade & battle though. My code is 5199 5273 9678.
Add me if you want but probably wont be online to battle! I don't even have the 8th badge yet, training some other pokemons first to defeat that bitch of a claire.
What a fucking whore killing my lvl 53 typhlosion with a fucking water gun or w/e it was with her lvl 40 sea pony.
Because I beat all the previous games that way. With one pokemon.saphyre wrote:Why would you use a fire type against and water type? lol

He's a raas.Gully Shanks wrote:can't be assed to train up to fight Red if im honest.
The probability is a bit lower me thinks. Never, ever, met a shiny in the wild on Ruby or FireRed and I played those games for hundreds of hours back in the day.saphyre wrote:shit! probability of getting a shiny is 1 in 8000
also you could easily have come across a shiny pokemon but not realised it was a shinyA shiny Pokemon is like a trophy; while it is not any stronger than its normal version, the fact that you have one is pretty cool. The chances of finding a shiny Pokemon is normally 1 in 8192. That's a 0.0122% chance of finding one! Don't bother breeding for one either, as the chances of receiving a shiny egg are just as slim.
