I was wary as hell of getting involved because I saw the potential for it to be an awful hacksaw-to-rusty-metal bodge job of cheap remixes of pop artists... and for sure there's certain tracks on there I don't like personally...

BUT the fact is, it's a massive milestone in the continued expansion of the sound, it's going to expose SO many new people to it, and if those people who might only have ever heard 'Where's My Money' or whatever now get to hear 'Where Is Home' remix, 'Changes', 'Purple City', '10 Tons Heavy', 'Reminissin', 'Blood On My Hands' etc etc etc, and get sleevenotes that actually spell out that dubstep isn't a "new sound" or "slowed down D&B" but has a decade-long history with roots in garage and connections to grime, techno etc, then this can only be a good thing!
good man, joe

props on the notes, glad you're involved!

people will be listening to nero and then shackleton, definitely gonna wake some kids up as to what dubstep can be: anything!

Thanks man.

Actually, thinking about what you say there, it's a real eye-opener to how flexible Dubstep has been and still is. I mean, I can't imagine the equivalent high profile Techno or Jungle comp in the mid 90s containing anything like such variety...

Youngsta and Task were on a Ministry of Sound radio show 4 or 5 years ago :)

On another point though i'm not sure the cover with it's car tuning metal grill effect finish is what I would associate with dubstep :?

They had a couple of nights down there called WhyNot? or Why? (i think) a few years back. Sometimes a smaller room had some as well I think on some dnb nights.

Relax.. this happened with 2Step/UKG as well... what happened with it? it evolved. To the music you now call dubstep.

Anyone remember this ?

surprised to see this, but the tracklisting could have been a hell'a load worse.. so may help rather then hinder seeing as it has a bit of variation...

I'm guessing it's mixed like most MOS cd's although I did hear one recently that wasn't mixed at all.. so got me curious..
