Also, don't think we have to worry about this Ministry Cd or anything. If you think about the kind of sounds that are emerging at the moment with talents like James Blake, the good Mt something (kimbie), joy orbison, dfrnt, phaeleh etc etc. the list goes on. All of these sounds have come out of the music that we love, dubstep, so to appreciate these great sounds and artists we also have take the shit stuff. Thats just what happens when a genre expands. The worst gets worse, and the best gets better

someone asked me to play mt. eden at a night i did, i just gave him a shocked look, laughed, and said 'nah mate i dont play any of that kiddie stuff'. He looked embarrassed and walked off.
now I dont give a fuck if i sound like an 'elitist' or whatever.. its becoming beyond a joke.
fact of the matter is even if that bloke when off and researched dubstep a little more, its a good thing.
As i said before, lets hope its a fad

THIS^^^
I find it fucking awkward being asked what music i like because more often than not people try and talk to me about 'dubstep' and i just get pissed off and then make my self sound like a pretentious tnuc.

I think i managed to do exactly that last night out in town. People just look at you like :s when you say, yea yea yesssss ive heard of borgore...heard of digital mystikz by any chance? no? walk off.

i was walking down market street (manchesters city centre high street) the other day and went past HMV and they had some PA at the door blasting some garagey dubstep tune, i didnt know what it was but it was deffo garage/dubstep. i was so fucking sent under i was like what? dubstep playing on manchesters busiest street, what is going on

haha also i was playing a set the other night and had constant requests to "play something abit more live" i remember one was when i was playing Three Sided Shape - Scuba which i think is a pretty live tune tbh, obviously not if all you want is pure "disgusting" wobble, and when i played Lock In The Lion - Airhead & James Blake some girl went up to the promoter and was like "you need to sort the tunes out" my mate who was stood next to this was thinking what the hell are you on about. . . anyways whenever anyone asked me to play "something abit more live" i just said "yeah" and continued playing whatever i wanted, its the only way really do you think i'm going to start buying jump up on vinyl? hahahaha imagine.

really what can you say that isnt offensive?
this is the kind of thing i am experiencing....

this is what the dubstep brand means now days i guess....awful music and a license to get the dj to play it if he doesnt play said awful music..
i should add i was playing mensah at the time

clearly mt eden pisses on mensah...he probably likes better d&b than mensah as well given that he said he likes roni size cos he mcs over his own tracks

i think its time to make a new genre....

Honestly some of you guys need to stop worrying about being offensive, just tell the little pric to fuk off better yet punch the little turd

otherwise just say you'll play it in a few and keep it moving

haha! get me!
the heads who feel the need/right to ask a dj for a request in a rave are not the kind of people who will be asking for anything good...trust...
when you go and watch Youngsta play a set at FWD>> do you ask him to play a certain Kryptic Minds tune...no...you just sink into the darkness of that basement room dancefloor and the power of the PP system, eyes down, skank out and enjoy what he chooses to give you that night...
i can see an inevitable split in the 'dubstep' scene sometime soon...people try to pretend it will never happen but i think keeping everything under one name is unrealistic unfortunately...it won't matter to the true heads because they are deep in the sound and know what they like artist/label/club night wise so they can follow shit with or without genre titles but the casual listeners will rip 'dubstep' apart over time and create various sub genres...for example...i can't believe there are actually people in the world taking the term 'brostep' seriously and using it to describe certain tunes/producers...that is a strong warning sign...

A while back I had some muppet obviously coming up on his first pill comes up to the DJ booth and he wont stop babbling - keeps asking "can u play that tune u know the one that goes actlikeyouactlikeyouactlikeyouactlikeyouactlikeyouactlikeyouactlikeyouactlikeyouactlikeyouactlikeyouactlikeyouactlikeyouactlikeyouactlikeyouactlikeyouactlikeyouactlikeyouactlikeyouactlikeyouactlikeyou...know..u know the one by Neeerrrroooo" like I've never heard the tune b4 (I fucking hate it!) or have never heard of Nero b4!
As he wont shut up I try to ignore this guy then he starts tapping my head like a woodpecker and when I gave him an evil stare he says "ahhhh you need to calm down" and tries to walk round the dj booth and give me a back massage!! My mate kept pushing the guy over but he just wasn't getting the message, it seemed to take him forever to realise that he was becoming a nuisance and should piss off. Although that guys sheer cheek was quite amusing I later went for a piss only to come back to find some other student gimp who'd been buying me drinks whilst id been playing had been trying to grope my fiancee in my absence - I won't say what happened next but it definately wasn't positive vibes thats for sure!
