yeah i ghet you, but thats more of an equiptment thing like saying, yeah the record player too. soundsystem is vital.

but the context i was sayin it was like, the "hip hop culture" was b boying turntablism graff baggy clothes and so on (not that people who dont do any of that cant listen to hip hop, but these things emerged in relation with hiphop, without hip hop alot of that stuff would have been very different, or even non existent). Dubstep hasnt really produced a certain culture yet.

1) From the people you are interested in, Your like labels with Dub Police, Hench, Circus, any of those artists your be interested in. ppl have mentioned the obvious Skream & benga but also check out Stenchman, Sukh knight, Jakes, Chasing shadows, Seven, Kutz, Ashburner

2) Not fond of Mc's unless its at a big event really, and much prefer an MC who is creating a vibe and not actually spitting endless bars.

3) as for culture or genre, Dubstep is so widespread and is so varied with sounds and producers is for ever developing

4) for the area I have checked out hit and run, Subdub and Detonate you should come to Brighton and Bristol for vibes outside of London.

5) For the sound you seem to like your be interested in good hype MC's like Rod Azlan, Flowdan, Dread MC, P Money, Badness, for more hosting sets Sgt Pokes, SP, Crazy D.

There's a mc that transcends just throwing a few tune names or a woop, what what, every now and then.
Dude has mad skills.

Coming from SA makes his lyrics sound even more intelligent to me.

I mean the guy is rapping about real life and pulling it off amasingly.
Compared to guys that just yell wah gwaaan.

If i understand what your saying. you dont rate mc's who hype up a crowd? and knowing track names of tunes.?

I much prefer that than havin some mc spitting about the struggles of life and being broke, over a caspa beat or joker track i'l much prefer a woop woop here and there and a few little rhymes hence me liking people like SP who will host it out spit a few bars, as well as crazy d, and dread mc he gets on a hype one but doesnt kill it with endless spitting, but makes everyone get hype with the music fux knows what rod azlan says on the mic but its always vibes and he works the crowd, if im listen to an album yeah i wanna hear some concious lyrics and ting but when im out at a dubstep rave i dont wanna be listening to some lyricalist i want hear the music and beats with someone building up on the vibe. never heard of the guy u mentioned but still where can i find a set with him on so i can check it out.

totally agree. much prefer to have a hype man then someone trying to spit over everything. sign of a good MC is someone not trying to compete with the music, just someone who knows when to throw a little something in. never seen pokes live but everything ive heard from him makes me think he's a very good HOST, which is what dubstep needs.
saying that though, i love to hear old sets with LTJ Bukem and MC Conrad, they had it so right. i dont mind if he spits over the top of the whole set, it sounds so good.

For alot of people its not just about listenin to a song on youtube etc.. & thats fine. Its about goin out & experiencing it live. Which is where soundsystems come in and peoples love for the sound (bass) Which then leads to the never ending battle on vinyl Vs Digital.

Once you go to a dubstep rave with a huge soundsystem playing proper sub heavy dubstep your perspective on music and going out will be changed forever. Hit up subdub in leeds for a prime example of this
