Too spend more then 6 hours on my tunes.

I have 5 of them Ive set myself on not putting out until Im solidly happy with them, something Ive never done before. Im devoting tons of time and energy into attention too detail maximalism, and going to make the tunes that are respectable enough in a typical dubstep context too give me the room to breathe on my new found love for ambient.

In essence.

Current goal is to be serious, and take my time.

Next goal is find the right label for an a/b side with my new moniker. ive looked through hundreds and hundreds of releases and dont hear much at all that is on the same tip. Which is very disheartening, I dont really want to make a poxy label that 12 people will ever hear. I guess its haunting melodic dubstep with chunky bass and rolling hiphop-style breaks.

Next goal after that is start djing, Im sick of turning down opportunities. And I need to learn how to think of music as large chunks, not 128th notes. At some point I need a vinyl release so Ive got something to hang on the wall, and an excuse to get a artist friend to do me a commission piece.

My longterm goals are releasing at least one LP and to get a live thing going with a good friend. it would involve relocating tho, as well as getting my shit together proper. So its a long time off lol.

I'm also working on an "album" of sorts (18 7-minute tracks following a theme).

Id like to start playin gigs more often, to do that requires me to build up my record collection more, which sucks to do on minimum wage.
Production wise, right now Im trying to learn battery, soon ill probably pick up a padkontrol and start pounding out beats, after that who knows.

Want to at least write two tunes in Reaper. This will tell me if I am going to stick with the app or go back to Renoise.

my main goal in life at the moment (for the past year) is to get a job.
then:
1.get my own place
2.get dj gear
3.start bedroom djing, already am growing on my vinyl collection almost every week
4.produce more (not necesserily dubstep) to be able to get signed within at least 5 years
5.pay more attention to my girlfriend and a little bit less on the music (takling in nerdy aspects such as this forum)
6.quit smoking tobacco :?
7.???
8. PROFIT

I quit smoking this past year.. its definitly possible.. you feel much better, less tired, less moody, more $$$ -- its an investment in yourself really

tough because doing the musician thing and smoking almost go hand in hand - have to make some internal reconnections to bridge over those old habits

but cant deny it feels so good to have a nice smoke after youve spent hours in front of the computer finishing some track that turned out awesome

creds to you for quiting that nasty habit - which is basically, paying money for slow destruction of ones lungs

Well, finish at least ONE damn track. I keep starting new tracks/projects. I've read this is a classic characteristic of bipolars; to keep starting many projects and never finishing anything. I've all kinds of other stuff I'm working on too, like trying to bulkup with muscle and gain like 10 lbs, pushing a product to manufacturers for a licensing deal, and some real estate shit.

For now, and topic-related, I'm working on a hip-hoppish track that I'm going to need a female rapper for. Might use my daughter if she can cut it. Need to record some live drumming for it and add a melody. It's going really well and even my wife shouted from the other room, "That sounds awesome!" when I was live hand drumming along with my music.

: )

Got a few things in the mix atm...

- Working on a free remix EP with Legend4ry currently, it's going to comprise of about 6 or 7 Dubstep remixes of songs from the freeware game 'Within a Deep Forest' by the musician/games designer Nicklas 'Nifflas' Nygren :D Been given the thumbs up by Nifflas and a couple of the other composers (know him personally through the 'Knytt Stories' game he wrote, I wrote the level 'Chamber of Trials' under the name Fredulom), he's a really great guy who writes some AMAZING games and music, please if you haven't already check out his website at http://www.nifflas.ni2.se

- I hopefully want to start writing a second EP but I've not got anything solid atm... Don't know how many tracks, what the theme is and whether I'm going to release it or not, but I've recently become interested in more minimal techniques so I'll be utilising them to full effect :D

- Conversely, I've got a few stonking remixes in the pipeline :D

1) Become very confident with FL and know most of the ins and outs.

2) Produce at least one decent song by the end of summer (decent as in sounds good for a beginner)

3) After 2 I hope to, consequently, produce more and better songs and pick up djing and not just producing.

Yeah I hear that. Smokes are soo expensive. If you put that money into the bank it would add up quick! I have cut way down but I have to make a decision soon, I don't think I want to smoke for the rest of my life. Worst habit ever.
