I've seen everything Lynch has ever done, most multiple times, even his shorts. Am a huge fan, he's my favourite director. I used to run a Lynch website My favourite is Mulholland Drive, then Blue Velvet. Twin Peaks remains the best thing on telly ever. Although Breaking Bad is quickly catching up.

Its true at the end of the day a director will have little say in what gets put into a film. If it isn't what the producer wants they might get a new director or just redo it. It is entirely possible that certain directors are hired just for their style and because it gives a name you can associate with the film.

Parson man... there may be higher and lower dimesions of space, but as far as we three-dimensional dwellers go, this is the real world. My best recommendation to you would be to have a kid, watch childbirth - then tell me it's all an illusion. In fact whilst you're at it, don't say a bloody word to your kid, teach him/her everything they need to know via telepathy, and see how that works for you.

I don't think it matters if this is a dream or not really, it's not like you've got any choice in waking up. These kind of views do kind of belittle life a bit which is a shame as it's all we've got.
