I used to live locally and got some free tickets last year. My highlight was Jamie lidell on friday night and that was about it.

If you don't like psy trance or breaks then i'd avoid it. There were about 3 or 4 tent's playing psy trance which was 3 or 4 too many for my liking and the claims to be on the forefront of electronic music seemed a little far fetched to me.

I got the impression that any music that wasn't in the free party/hippy friendly mold was unwelcome. So i wouldn't be surprised if there isn't much in the way of dubstep this year, but perhaps they'll prove me wrong.

If you like veggie burgers, thai fishermans trousers and psy trance then the glade is for you.
i've been every year and i really don't agree with what you're saying, the liquid stage and the psy trance stage play psy trance, and OCCASIONALLY the chillout tent. the breaks tent was shit last year (the worst year so far), but they are definitely improving things in a lot of ways this year, there's no way that many of last year's problems will be present this time around.

as to the claim that theres nothing but psy + breaks there, if you went last year - did you even go to the overkill tent?!!? that place was insane.

i hardly listened to any breaks or psytrance all weekend, serious. the techno there is incredible, and till this yer they didnt even have a dedicated techno stage - promised this year with HUGE names.

i fully recommend this festival, its awesome, looking forward to actually being the legal age for the first time this year :)

Id put it the other way round, if you like psy-trance or breaks, DEFINATELY go (i love breaks, huzzah!) There is MORE than enough going on to keep you occupied, even if by the end of the weekend your pulse has set itself to the beat of the psy-trance stage (without setting foot anywhere near it...that system is loooud)

I mean, I dont know how Jamie Lidell "was about it". Your forgetting alot of insane sets.

Vex'd - killed it
Modeselektor - Only caught second half of it, but yeah. Killed it.
The Rogue element vs. tom real - :o (was ridiculous)
Autechre - What do you think? (and i found about a 1/4 of skunk on the floor!! :D )
...bangface - Not entirely my cup of tea (old skool = :D techno = :D breakcore = :? gabba =  ) but the vibe in that place was unlike anywhere else ive ever been. Rammed to the seams with people just absoloutely having it. (with the comedy visuals aswell  "BANG, YOU'RE ON DRUGS")

There will be dozens more that i either missed or forgot. (aswell as some huge breaks sets...)
Long story short, you're wrong iag. :i:

yeah they were all solid, deekline and wizard killed it. seeing Autechre for the first time, in the most unreal chemically assisted states of mind i've ever been in was one of the most beautiful and strange moments of my life.
off. the. hook.
wish i could remember the name of the first act i saw, someone in the overkill tent playing what i can only describe as completely filthy mashed-up techno-bashment.
kevin saunderson completely killed it. inspirational.
richie hawtin the year before totally blew me away, and i didn't even like him at the time. sunday afternoon, thought the festy was over, cos he was one of the last acts, and then a MINIMAL TECHNO dj plays one of the best sets i've ever heard...it was so restrained, it was about 45 mins before the first snare dropped, but it worked!
lastly bangface evening, what can i say. my first bangface experience, the vibe is crazy but the music is better, luke vibert played a totally sick jungle set, then the succession of knifehandchop, bong-ra + aaron spectre was brilliant.
