not really bothered who they are aiming things at, and not saying i'm hating (pretty nonplussed about the whole thing) just saying i don't think they are producers til they are putting out their own original material that's all.

if they have enough skill to make halfway decent original productions then they will probably make a fair bit of cash because of the "fame" they have, if they manage to do that then fair play to them.

Just like Brogores sleepy head remix. I thought that tune was alright and to be honest, if it had someone elses name on it, I would have potentially put it on my iPod or something.

how does that logic add up
an artist is someone using any mediums at their disgression to express their vision. if those mediums mean taking someone else and spinning off it then you are technically an artist.
since nothing is truly original and only marriage of previous ideals in different ratios someone remixing someones art is actually one ofthe definitions of being an artist

i don't think you can really have your "own" vision by rehashing other peoples stuff constantly.

dont get me wrong im not a mt eden fan, but i dont hate their stuff either, I'd much rather listen to it than most of the noisy shit being played nowadays, often by big producers/djs who i really admire. Mount Eden stuff is like pop dubstep, not offensive at all, but not fantastic.

Yeah, I'm not feeling there stuff but I liked there remix alot better than jakwobs. I think if I was them I would just change my name and start over...

When it comes down to it, the forum collective is just a very, very small portion of their audience.
What you don't know if the thousands of fans who would never read any posts on any forums and just listen to music and like what they hear.

As it's been said before, they should be free to make and do what they like, as should anyone and everyone wanting to experiment with music. It's all a learning curve in this production game.
I know a lot of people who started out just playing with remixes ect but not had their earlier attempts have as much exposure as Mt Eden did.

So realistically, people are going to buy their music, go to their events and enjoy what they do and a bunch of hate on some forums is really not going to affect anything apart from maybe hurt these guys feelings, when they're just trying to do something fun.

Bottom line; let people do what they want. If you don't like it don't buy, don't listen to it. Have opinions but have some compassion also.
