no one is smart for talking to Nu-Urban. lolredeyz wrote:they would be smart to start speaking to Nu-Urban or ST Holdings themselves, really.displaced wrote:Yeah, really is a shame for all those other labels (and Z Audio).
Hope they can find new homes and continue to put music out on wax!

I'll admit it aint always been smooth with them BUT Z-Audio has always been there for me releasing my tunes when other ppl wouldn't give me the time of day so ill keep supporting them. A lot of the problems ppl have had with them are more to do with slackness than anything malicious but mabeye they will now be able to focus a lot more on PR which is what has been missing. Some good music sells itself but some needs a bit of help getting out there u know what I mean?hxdb wrote:I'm biting my tongue.....
A shame indeed to see many quality labels suffer from this.
Instead of fanning the flames though, I will suffice to say this. Z-Audio was mis-managed and disorganized and I know SEVERAL labels and people (including myself) that have had awful experiences with them. Sign of the times or fate?
He did fuk up promo on one of my releases but that wasn't his faultFunk Eh wrote:There have been a few cool people I've dealt with at Z Audio in the last couple of years. They were generally overwhelmed by the job because so many people were incompetent, both on the distroside and the label side.
Bes dude that ever worked for Z Audio was Wil Blaze. Never had a question go unanswered with him. Never a question of when something would happen. Full control. After he left it was like 5 monkies trying to fuck a football.
Lots of big labels put out shit that regularly gets bumlicked on here purely for the label name sure there were some questionable releases but theres some sick tunes distributed as well (if your not a chinstroking tit) Reso's Technetium being one of my favs atm, plenty of good Bar9 tunes, Kromestar, Synkro and Indigo, Nero's earlier stuff, True Tiger etc etcrogue star wrote:Thanks for calling my label half arsed.grotbags wrote:Basically translates into "Nobody is buying the half arsed crap we put out , and anyway the decent labels end up at ST-Holdings"lukki wrote: Sales on vinyl have continued to decrease for us dramatically in 2010 and we have been forced to shut this side of the business down.
Cargo, ST and SRD seem to keep ppl happy and there's one or two other options as well although it does seem like its kill or be killed with distributors atm!Pistonsbeneath wrote:just get on cargo people
those guys know their stuff
its a big shame for all involved but not the end of the world
and just to say the best kromestar tunes werent pumped out on z-audio but released on labels that understand the right tunes need to be released and the right amount of time is needed to finish them off..
having said that i do have a fair few decent z-audio 12"S..on the edge is a serious label and audio phreaks did put out that wicked trg tune
How utterly refreshing!lukki wrote:Already chatting with Bill @ Cargo- guy is flooded with inquiries this weekend but already got back to me.
