The word "tnuc" is used in Glasgow (and much of Scotland) variably as either a term of great offence, or of great camaraderie.
A quick guide for those who may visit Glasgow:
You walk in to a
the Goose Pub on Union st.
Someone says to you:
"Alright you daft tnuc, yer goanny get malkied!"
- At this point head for the exit expediciously.
"Alright ya big daft tnuc, gies some schwally!"
- Respond in a similarly jocular manner, and get in a round of spritzers.
Easy as that.
The term can also be used in variously descriptive roles, from the mundane to the superlative via the very painful.
For example "Ooyahcuntya" could be used appropriately in the following situations:
- - Upon dipping one's toe into the bath, and finding the water a little too warm
- Upon being smashed over the head with an Irn Bru bottle
- Upon Scotland scoring a last minute goal to beat England in the world cup final
Obviously, the volume at which the aforementioned phrase was uttered would vary greatly depending on the circumstances.

^^^ Top work Gravious. Do I take it that if I wandered into a bar and said "greetings from England you scotch stnuc" that I would then be accepted into the throng with great vigour and enthusiasm. Or would I just get knifed and have my head jumped upon repeatedly.
