i really wanna get it.
I would get Fallout 3, as it already has all the bugs taken care of any five expansions under it's belt. More for your money.

Think this was a PC only bug, and was patched really quickly on Steam. The video was posted up on Reddit originally, and in the patch notes they creditted Reddit for finding it and even posted the video
and
ps. i've clocked just over 30hrs now into new vegas

This game is ridiculously heady. I'm gonna sample the SHIT out of it. lol
It also looks considerably better than Fallout 3.

just get the fallout 3 GOTY edition with all the expansions then by the time you've rinsed it new vegas will be on the cheap so just pick it up then.
i do agree with whoever said that new vegas feels more like an expansion than a sequel though, but i guess that's what happens when you use the same game engine etc.

what faction are you rolling with? although chandler (or Benny) is a sly tnuc i actually like his advice. NCR seem like they have some nice gear i can rob (hoping you can get the outfit on the front cover) and Caesars legion are just a bunch of nutty slavers so i think i'll give them a miss.
Im thinking i'll trick Mr house and rob all his protection, play along with the NCR and get on there good side and just take over Vegas for myself

I'm rolling with NCR.
When i first arrived in Nipton and was confronted by the Legion and told to spread the word of their atrocities, I killed them instead.

I have taken over New Vegas (I would explain how but I don't wanna spoil shit for people), and am now basically in a position to decide which organizations to exterminate/leave alone.
...but unfortunately I fucked up in my dealings with the Omertas, killing a few of them, and thus fucking up the main quest for them. So now I have to start over.
This is one of the best games I've ever played.

is this a full game in its own right or an expansion?
and is it on 360?

-It's technically a new game, but the extent that they reused assets from fallout 3 is ridiculous. It feels like an expansion pack.
-Yes.

yeh man, i saved just before escorting the ho's so was alright. best casino quest has to be the one with the white glove society at the de-luxe. It's a bit tricky but managed to do it in the end.
Also anyone managed to get the outfit on the front cover, is there anyway to get it without killing the NCR?

i suppose this is true, if they just updated the engine the game would be near perfect.
doesn't bethesda own the rage engine aswell? ....the game could look like this

Definitely a good game to burn hours on in the downtime, I thought Fallout 3 was very good and New Vegas just expands on that, without tarnishing any of the original spark from F3.
The option to play hardcore (which people should do in my opinion) creates a much better overall gaming experience, the introduction of crafting various types of ammo brings a new strategic dynamic to the game, along side you have to eat and drink now to survive (Although you could argue that this "realism" gameplay somewhat spoils the experience).
I pay alot more attention to the foods im eating now and stat distribution as in my opinion they heavily influence gameplay alot more than in F3, for example the opening optional quests at the starting mission, I wont spoil anything.

Rage is ID, Bethesda is simply the publisher.
Rage is on iD Tech 5 (obviously owned by iD)
no offense to Bethesda but their physical studio is well shit.
I enjoyed the new Fallout from a nostalgia standpoint as I loved the original games, but from a development snobs standpoint it was a rather meh game.
Great looking game, meh playing game.

I thought Bethesda owns ID straight up?
I loved F3, even having only played F1 and Oblivion for less than 2 hours. Sure the animation is absolute shit, but the breadth and detail of the game world is amazing.

Zenimax Media owns both iD and Bethesda as of last year. The big news in that Bethesda acquired exclusive publishing for anything on the iD Tech 5 engine.
The big thing is determining a development studio versus a publisher.
Mass Effect 2 was developed by Bioware, but published by Electronic Arts. Same company, bioware, developing Star Wars the Old Republic, but will be published by Lucas Arts.
The quality of a game namely falls on on your developing studio not the publisher.

I know all that. SInce Zenimax now owns id and all of their related IP (tech 5), they have the final say on who gets to use the engine, correct? Couldn't they sell it UE3 if they felt like it?
