Elements of House can be found in every dance music out there. But DnB I think can say it drew the majority of it's roots from Hardcore (maybe hard house?), Techno, Dub, Dancehall and Jungle. House was 10 years old before DnB reared it's monstrous head. Now days the two genres only cross over briefly with artists like Martyn or Calibre who still show heavy house leaning in their music. But the genres didn't have a common starting point (afaik) and were going through different development phases at different times. So a 'flew past' comment wouldn't make sense. Unlike Grime and Dubstep, imo. tbh. irl. etc.

Slang Like this is an awful tune (in my opinion).... but Sukh Knight has curled out some decent sets that I have witnessed and has made some decent tunes..

Think Sukh Knight's sound is undeniably what you would generalise as brostep sound, but relatively good quality and happy to hear the odd tune thrown into sets to keep shit varied...

"dubstep" is almost a dis in some circles, esp that way tired lfo bass business. Seems to be where im at anyway.

dubstep is just a name that means different things to different people. Some people get so stuck on the names and labels of stuff that they forget its just dance music and should just be enjoyed

Also James Blake has stated several times that he doesn't mind being labeled as dubstep as he feels his music falls in line with the original tenets of the idea
