It's not the craziness. It's how forced it is.noam wrote:yeah if only everyone rapped whilst sitting politely in their armchairs...Motorway to Roswell wrote:The whole "swag" thing and trying to come across as crazy is dull.
tbf i know people who act kinda like they (ofwg) seem, and they aint the nicest people, at times i down right hate them but they're entertaining and its actually real - as much as its an act, it is actually just them being them.
im all for it, its not new but its PERSONALITY. not everything has to be judged with a critics eye firmly pointing out that in fact 'being a little bit crazy has been done before.... try something new'. that attitude pisses me off more than the people who fake it.
well i disagree in saying its forced, i think some people are just like that, punk was the same 30years ago, and people are like that anyway in most scenes- it just happens that people with those personalities are more likely to go down that performance/exhibitionist route and more likely to be picked up (by public/label/media etc.)Motorway to Roswell wrote:It's not the craziness. The worst thing is the fans. Like with most things. Who've all started trying to say things in the same style. Talking about Satan, swag, fuck whoever etc. As usual, youtube comments are the worst for it.
Good music though.
I'm mainly talking about Tyler in terms of forced "craziness". It all seems very calculated.noam wrote:well i disagree in saying its forced, i think some people are just like that, punk was the same 30years ago, and people are like that anyway in most scenes- it just happens that people with those personalities are more likely to go down that performance/exhibitionist route and more likely to be picked up (by public/label/media etc.)Motorway to Roswell wrote:It's not the craziness. Good music though.
i agree with the fan bit though, as i said, i dislike the fakeness that comes with some people who're into this stuff too.

yea i got that
sometimes it seems to me he's watched that video of Eli Porter too many times and really thinks he's 'the best mayne....' watch his eyes roll around in his head lol
but yeah, thats what im passing as personality and performance though.
There ya go. That's surely all that matters? This is Hip Hop remember? Noones been 'real' since Chuck D.Motorway to Roswell wrote: Good music though.
Yeah, but it's nice to discuss things rather than just go "this is good". Why can't we talk about both?herbalicious wrote:There ya go. That's surely all that matters? This is Hip Hop remember? Noones been 'real' since Chuck D.Motorway to Roswell wrote: Good music though.
