Are you one of those people who shout things in their white van at people who look a bit different and go out every Friday night to 'shag some birds" ... Thats how you're portraying yourself, what do they call it.. a larger lout? Go get a kebab and fall asleep in your vomit.
IRONY!!!

Now your portraying yourself, as somaone how hates larger louts... hum... people who hate people different to them = hitler.
I don't hate them, I just thought you'd rather do that as playing ping-pong with me isn't making you any happier.
You want the last post in this thread don't you?

Why don't you lock it, then you can have your wish. you locked that thread when you had a bitch last time, about their not being enough "art cigarettes" here. You also said that you was going to stop posting here, and just mod, then you said that you did not want to mod anymore.

I think your the problem here not me. Also your setting a good example to others in this thread.

This is my last post in this thread you win.

Peace.

........ Jokes aside - well things change and I locked the thread cause it was pointless, I created it, it didn't go well I have the power to lock it and forget it... Just like anyone can PM to get the same done.

Plus, you always step up to take a pop at me, like you did in this thread.. SO yeah, you're the problem in this situation, I do set a good example and most people are happy with me being a mod here as ive contributed a hell of a lot to this forum in the 4 years ive been on it, also made some decent relationships with other producers.

If you don't like something, don't post.. Thats my advice to you.

pseudo- Art cigarettes are worse.
It's them who should be the target, surely?
Walking around with that smug grin thinkin' they're so cool and original, when they shop at Topman and read the NME.

When did liking art make anyone "intellectual"?

It doesn't, but saying stupid shit puts you about as far from an intellectual as you can get (not meaning YOU, just people in general).

Some seriously idiotic comments in this thread from people who REALLY don't understand art on an even basic level (and saying you understand art doesn't mean you understand art, by the way).

"Art cigarette!" "Pretentious!" "Artists talk and write about their art more than they make it!" -w-

WOW

Eh don't really care for the song on the video, but on the art subject i think its more if you make something in any medium of art to express your self its ok.When i think of the what you guys are calling "art cigarette" i think of a what i consider a hipster. In the fact they try to act deep and different even though they all copy eachother and only make the art to impress others not so much for themselves.

Side note- I don't see what people have against flying lotus ect. I don't think he started makeing his music to impress everyone and personally i enjoy alot of his beats.

i'm gonna throw some fuel on the fire. As you probably know, John Cage once made a piece called 4:33 that was 4 minutes 33 seconds of silence. Pretty art faggy no matter how look at it. However, he also wrote an essay in the 30s that predicted electronics would change music. Specifically, he predicted our fascination with harmony would subside and instead rhythm and timbre would be the primary concerns of electronic musicians. Cage correctly foresaw that electronic musicians would be deeply invested in synthesis and percussion, and that noise (including non-pitched sounds like drums) would be an important compositional tool. He predicted all of this before computers existed, all of which is pretty art-faggy except that, well, he was right, and all dubstep artists now are the living embodiment of his predictions.

So is Cage any less of an art cigarette considering that all your favorite artists are following in his footsteps, whether they know it or not?

He made a prediction, he didn't publish the "Essental guide to modern music" so it's not exactly following in anyone's footsteps.
