Ditto.
If they get big time promotions they will make it all legal for them. I remember hearing that their one rmx was used on tv. If so, it was cleared, they don't mess around with that type of thing.

okay no respect for them etc.

moving along, has anyone here tried making a decent remix of that sierra leone song? could the forum maybe put on a contest?

dont think itd be too hard to make a better remix of it, but the original artist, lisa mizkovsky, doesnt deserve to be remembered by this garbage mt eden put out.

Just found out that they're signed to Universal Music - so this ripping they're doing will go unpunished. ARGH!!

back to this AGAIN???

"sample music" is our roots!!

where would dub, jungle, d&b, hip hop etc. be without it?

I'm sure as Mt Eden progresses in production, shit will get mean as!

mind you, I can't hate on someone's creativity... no matter how minimal it is.

life is too short to get caught up in the bullshit!!

There's quite a difference from sampling a one-liner, a part of an instrument riff, or a beat. It's quite another to sample the whole track.

Yeah not only is sampling my roots but it's my reality, my bread and butter but you should make your own hooks at least. I mean I don't care what you do but I have my standards.... maybe :6:

i'll believe it when i see something come out, along with all the other rumors
they don't exactly have a fanbase that gets their music legitimately seeing as even when they had tunes up legitimately for free, they have a good chunk of people and comments about how to youtube rip their songs and reposts of the same shit on their official channel blatantly from said youtube rips

and there is a difference between sampling and just laying a bassline and drum track over a song
that and you don't sample within the genres you're making, it's like shitting in your own bed
also i don't really that much respect for artists that do almost all remixes with no or very few original works, it's just riding someone else's name who put the work in and was creative enough to come up with their own material

No - he mentions it in an interview: http://www.themahoganyblog.com/2009/08/mt-eden-dubstep/

And amen to original tracks. I was wondering that myself.

We didn't put out this "album" ourselves, its just a collection someones made up themselves and given out for free on torrent sites etc.
the only proper release we have had was our first EP "MEDS", which has 4 fully original tunes and 1 remix on it. we only just released it on one month ago on December 1st. and we released it independently as we are unsigned artists.
