in the absense of much 'real' stuff on vinyl i have been playing stuff that a least has some influence from SA House within it
people danced to nanorock skank when i played it out rather than 'stroke their chins'
anyone i'll be leaving this discussion finally.

Just found this nice little house track while sifting through some African music on Youtube.

Goes nicely with the "Slow House" vibe.

mzo bullet - casablanca
sdunkero - choosing love
mclloyd - tembisa funk
mujava - township funk
mujava - pleaze mugwanti (on the kode9 dj kicks 2LP)

that's all the semi-recent, easily available stuff i know about. would love to have some more afrohouse on wax if anyone knows

edit: almost forgot there's a slew of black coffee 12"s. that stuff's so deep and smooth though i almost wouldn't consider it afrohouse, even tho it's african

this thread is fucking ace

it is looking to supplant that "deep house?!?!" thread as my favourite of the last year or so on DSF

I seen a lot of people say that the main elements from Mujava's Township funk are taken from a demo tune on fruity loops studio 3 or whatever its called.. I like the tune but that's kinda lame if its true..

Yes, if all he did was take a riff from a demo song and slap a different beat on it, it matters. It's pretty sad if you think it doesn't.
