it's weird, in the site I posted earlier (I would guess it's his Dad from what I've read in the blog), it mentions he's looking at 15 - 30 yrs but the last line of this entry:

15 - 30 does seem high for card fraud..

yeah depends with what he's been charged with, he could have a whole list of charges, he could also be talking about his stay in federal prison leading to his trial and he could be counting on getting out early on good behaviour/parole/reduced sentence

it does seem well steep for credit card fraud though!

I think he's British but it did mention his Visa running out so that probably doesn't help. I think Noam's right, this is a pre-trial term, he might be there for a while but nothing compared to his possible sentencing it seems. harrrsh. His wife must be a massive bitch

he's never been arrested before

his visa had run out so he was an illegal alien which will only add to the charges, but the list of charges will surpass just fraud, it will be conspiracy to commit fraud aswell for a start, not to mention anything else to do with how they acquired the dodgy cards so could well include theft/burglary, possession of stolen goods, impersonating identity etc.

complicated business, in short i reckon he'll have a lot of combined charges hanging over him

Him being of mixed race is probably not doing him favours any given the current level of (goverenment exaggerated) fear in America.

The length of his prison term and his heritage/race have nothing to do with eachother. If you think that shit still exists in the federal judicial system in 2011...
