Datsik = yes. Chasing shadows = no (imo)

a prefect example of a brostep tune would be Doctor p = Big Boss!

There's really nothing to be done about that though. People are going to make the music they want to make and if the masses out there don't care to look into it further they're not going to. I'm personally into stuff all across the board, I'm as likely to be listening to Mala or Kromestar as I am to be listening to Datsik or Flux Pavilion at this point (partially credit due to this forum for that helping me discover the more mellow heavy side of the genre). I'm probably an exception sure, but I'm an exception because I'm passionate about music and cared enough to look into the roots of music I discovered and was loving. Most people aren't gonna care enough and you're right that the filthy sound may be what people outside of the community end up perceiving dubstep to be exclusively about, but getting pissed at artists for that is pointless and unfair. Most of them (not all but most) are just creating the music that moves them and they want to make, they didn't make the masses too lazy to look into the roots. Anyway, this car sells bigtime, people still recognise the Ferrari badge and know that it's something special under the bonnet so it's a winner. They've sold more of these cars than any of their previous cars, and made 3X as much profit as they originally did.
So naturally, it's not within their interests to lose money as a company so they start pumping out generic family cars, to increase profits they buy cheaper parts, spend no money developing unique characteristics to their cars and make them appeal to everyone.
At the end of this there is you, half of you is happy that they are growing as a company and making money, but on the other hand you've lost all respect for them. The passion that connected you with them in the first place has gone, they're not doing anything special or respectable, they left behind everything that was so important to them and which made them stand out from the rest and now are purely in the whole thing for the money.
And then you get bitched at constantly for even hinting that they've "sold out". No matter how much you defend yourself with good reason,there will always be people ignorant enough to say that "they're still the same as they ever where" when infact they only ever heard of them once they was on every TV or radio advert.
And then for the most part the cycle continues.
For the record I don't have an interest in cars or Ferrari, it's just the only thing I could think of whilst smashed.
