OP can't be talking about the Skream who gave away four free eps and an album last year? Him and benga are golden in my book. Most of my fave artists make all kinds of stuff, and I'm not in to all of it... Quit being little bitches imo

I agree with this but I think there's a reason why Skream and Benga are getting stick and it's partly because their production of the more tearout stuff legitimises the hype sound in the eyes of those that would rather criticise certain producers as opposed to supporting the ones making the music they prefer.

The whole hype v deep argument has been done to death and while I'm not a massive fan of the more tearout stuff original producers moving in that direction lends credibility to it. Not that it actually needs it but it still does. Now I've never felt that purchasing an album gives me any right to expect to like the next album a producer releases but some obviously do. The thing for me is that producers are entitled to produce whatever they want and people are entitled to like / dislike it, people are not, in my opinion, entitled to criticise the producer for whatever direction they take, they can either buy it or leave it.

Durag wrote:People here act like some dubstep artists are above any sort of criticism at all, yes we know benga and skream have given a huge amount to this genre, but at the end of the day music is subjective and if fans don't like what they are playing they have a right to say so. If it wasn't for the fans in the early days skream and benga woulnt have been anywhere as successful.

Their not fucking gods, their musicians, and without some sort of constructive criticism they mightn't know what the fans want. It's when it turns into pointless hating that the problem occurs.
im sure they know what their fans want, and thats what they are playing, i bet the majority of people listening to their show love the fucking filthy beats, and arent coming on here to moan about how they arent playing what they want which they did a few years ago, if you want to listen to good tunes, either go buy that tune from 2006 and play it yourself, or listen to someone else who is pushing 'good' music, skream and benga arent the only dubstep djs/producers out there, find someone you do like rather than bash about people you dont.
