4. When producing, if the gf doesn't like your music and so on, she is banned from the apartment/house/studio until you feel you are done. Give her some shopping money or send her over to her mom/friend.
5. Every once in a while get her involved in your productions, to keep her intersted. E.G tell her to reead a short poem that will be included in the track. Bitches love poems.

My GF's pretty supportive in everything I do, she shows it to all her friends etc etc, but at times she totally freaks out cause I don't give her as much attention as I give my productions

if any of your would choose producing over your girlfriend then I suggest you dump your girlfriend now. as your relationship is obviously broken. or else just stay with her for the time being, the both of you are probably not at anything better if you're both in a go nowhere relationship.

as for myself, my significant other really likes what I do. however I would rather she be brutally honest rather than politely supportive.

In my defense, it wasn't a one off and it wasn't crit, it was just rude.

Even if I love somebody I'm not going to tolerate things like that, because the truth is, if I leave her, I can go find somebody better and be in love with them instead. Why love a good personality when you can love a great personality instead?

Relationships aren't really that important to me. They're time consuming, costly and ultimately get in the way of what I want in life.

Exactly my opinion aswell eventho I'm in a 2 year relationship with the best girl i've ever met.
Seems like she slurps up all my time that I could use for production.
I'm not at the point where I want to be and for that I need time to learn but whenever I get a day off I need to spend it with her.

On a side note: Whenever I'm close to finishing a track she'll be the one to hear it first.
I nag about her opinion and it's always a dry "it's good".
Even made a track for her but her interest for it was pretty low.

If I don't get support from the person whom I'm most expecting from, I wonder why I'm still trying tho.

I dont agree mate. My gf wants to be a writer shes constantly reading etc If I turned around and told her throw all her books and everything shes worked at away Id expect a fuck you if not a slap. Thing is we wouldnt make each other make that choice and thats what a healthy relationship is. You respect each others talents and intrests and dont stand in their way.

For me, even if she hated my tunes and told me they were awful I wouldn't love her any less. I'm just lucky in the fact that she seems to be alright with it.
But I guess everyone's in a different position.

If you don't value producing more than your girlfriend, then get rid of your DAW and stop trying to make music, or, just make mediocre tracks, you're not going to make anything better if you're not willing to re-address your priorities.

Why can't you value your girlfriend and your relationship more than producing but still strive to make your tracks as good as possible?

There's no direct correlation between how you value your girlfriend and how good your tracks are!!

My boyf is majorly into his film making, so he spends a tonne of his time on his computer editing music vids etc!

Its ideal, I get to sit in my studio, he sits in his!

Actually means when we spend time together its so much better!


Problem I found is when one person produces and has a hobby and the other does not they get bored and so demand attention!

its good for both partners to have hobbies!

As far as producing, I try to produce when she's at work to get shit done, but she was there when I couldn't make a basic drum beat in my daw. She only complains if she has heard the tune a million times which I don't doubt.

Producings not so bad with my girlfriend haven't been into it much lately though, she likes when i play guitar too, she doesnt mind listening while i play, she's pretty mint, if it came down to it i'd choose my guitar over though, its my fucking baby
