i wouldnt call a percussive hit a stab, thats more of a hit, a stab chord be like a chord stab, like just one hit of a chord, it could be a sampled horn 'hit' just one blast of a horn section, it could be like a bleepy sound, it could be a chopped vocal so that its very staccato. and just put it wherever the fuck you want its your tune, listen to other tunes and see where they put them.

he is right though, if you want to know something search for it, i have never made a thread asking for help, i may have asked a question in a thread, but if i want to know something, and i search and cant find an answer, well im not gonna make a thread about it. its great you know how to make a yoi bass, good for you, but you dont know what a stab is.

I've been producing for a little while now and I soon realized that practice helps, A LOT. Just listen to ur favorite tunes/artists. Start to listen to what they do, or how they "fill" their tracks. And when I say listen, I mean REALLY listen. You'll start to pick up on things that you may not have noticed before. Try to mimic these techniques and skills and you see progression in no time I've learned that you can't really get an answer for ALL of your questions. Especially on here But if you start to listen and basically study songs on ur own you will answer your problems for yourself! In due time...

You definitely need to add sub bass. Learn how to sculpt your sounds into shape with EQ and add a sub underneath your main basses. Layer up different drum (kicks and snares) samples and EQ them to different ranges, group or route through a bus, and EQ / compress all of them together to taste.
