I heard this effect in a Datsik track, What is it exactly?

When it drops, it has some amazing synth work, 28 seconds in when it drops, it has two big gun sounds, like something off a sci-fi video game..

Any clues of how to make it? I'm sure someone here is clued up enough to know

If you mean the 303 sound then cant be much more than a square wave and massive's scream filter. As for everything else, sounds like massive, but with maybe a notch filer as it has a 'wishy-washy' coating.

At exactly 28secs in there's a sound, it hits two times, sounds like a sci-fi soundeffect synth (hard to explain) - sounds like it's going 'Boo boo'

I tried what you said in Massive and sounded similar but way off at the same time, are you sure that's all there is too it? Can you give me more detail if possible?

I tried to get it. I got closest with two oscillators. Both squ-saw 1. One at -12 and one -12.03. Scream filter, and ever so slight down pitching. -12 Ring modulation. A vowel filter might have also been used. A little chorus as well possibly. I couldn't get it exactly, but I was fairly close.

If you have massive load up some saw waves and modulate the pitch (+12.00) with an envelope on all the oscillators. Set the envelope decay level to 0 and adjust the decay to speed up/slow down the pitch shift. Try the lp filters, scream or acid and add some resonance on them as you like. The main element of the patch making that booom booom sound though is the pitch modulation. That should get you near the sound, just up to you to tweak it to taste.

Thanks heaps for your help. I just tried it out. I got a little close, just not that good with envelopes and how much I assign them.

When you said 'with an envelope on all the oscillators' do you mean assign an envelope to all aspects of each oscillator like WT Position, intensity and amp?

and how much blue needs to be on each knob? Small amount or cover the whole thing? And also is +12 where it needs to be, the other poster said -12 or were you going somewhere else with it?

How do i make the blurry underwater sounding arp in the intro? Sounds like a BoC-ed arp. I dont think it's hard but i can't seem to get anywhere near the blurriness.

Can be heard at 1.24 in this aswell:

The first one is actually a very simple reese, with a supersaw layered an octave above. Both sounds are very basic though. not much movement or effects added from the sound of it. I dunno what DAW you use but have 3 saw waves, detune them from each other to taste (all the same octave) , maybe use some unison to further spread the sound out and some reverb. Then layer basically the same thing except an octave above.

The sound is a bass with a blowing wind sound. It kind of sounds like its rushing out, kinda hard to explain.

First example is Downlink - Gamma Ray Burst at 0:56, also at 1:26


Second, Sukh Knight - Ganja Dub at 0:30


Im looking for the sound in the first one, the second song's sound is vaguely similiar.
If anyone can tell me how to make it I would appreciate it.
