Yeah; thats annoying but hey - if people stopped buying consoles and upgraded their PCs we have pc to console ports!
Though, saying that !!
The Mass Effect 1 port to pc was far better than the Xbox version; same with number 2. I just think devs spend less time on PC versions of multi platform games because they know they'll just get warez'd anyways - makes me sad!

I wouldn't get either personally. Especially if you're wanting to play BF3 the way it is intended and designed to be played.
But if I were to choose I'd say go for the PS3.

Both have their strengths and weaknesses. For example 360 has a large failier rate, however an impressive (yet expensive) online play. PS3s are built to last, come with a ton of added abilities. However the online isn't well governed, its really a matter of prefference

Yep. Sad but true!
I make a special effort to support good PC developers by purchasing their games whenever I can. Sometimes it is difficult (e.g £30 on release day for Deus Ex 3) when its a singleplayer game and you know it'll take 2 seconds to find a free download, but it has to be done or PC devs will die out.
PS3 wise, fuck em. I cop ALL my games second hand for no more than £15 (and that's only for the A-list games)

Same here, fuck that 39.99 launch day price when 2 weeks later it's 20.00 used, near mint, and i'll only buy after I've rented it from lovefilm to see if it is even worth that first.

I Do that with loads of stuff now. Use youtube / rapidshare for listening to tunes before I buy them, and I use my lovefilm account to stream films before I buy them. I spend three times as much as I used to on films and music because of wide spread piracy.
I perhaps spend about £300 a year on games (all of which are PC), good games like BF3 or DE3. If they've just been ported from a console the developers can go fuck themselves.

metal gears crap by the way
I got this far in the thread and decided not to read any more
If you think Metal Gear is crap you clearly are an utter retard when it comes to games.
On the subject of Xbox I will say:
I own all Nintendo home consoles that were released in England and a few hand helds
All English released sega consoles (including master system variations to get the built in games) apart from the CD (my 32x barely works though)
All Playstations
and a Neo Geo AES
no Microsoft consoles what so ever.

PS3. Don't listen to the shit the 360 fanboys give you. They both have their perks...for me, PS3 seems like a more adult console. It has so much on offer including 4od, iPlayer, film streaming, blu ray, great exclusives, great online community and isn't bogged down with stupid little avatars that look nothing like you in real life. Just pick a chicken or other cute animal as your avatar and away you go. The PS3 also has a lot of potential for expansion, including 3D if that's your thing.
Best investment I've ever done. Minus my technics.

360 = Games console
PS3 = Computer
If your a gamer. Get the 360.
If your a stuck up tnuc that has to have everything in one box (each individual thing lacking in quality) get a PS3
Simple

PC everyday.
That said, I have a PS3 as well, but that's what all my friends have so it makes sense to me. I personally have never had any problems with it overheating and I had one of the original 60gb ones (think it was a 2nd generation actually). At the end of the day if you have friends who have mainly one type of console go for that one, you'll be having more fun anyway regardless of the game you play.
But it is nice to have lovefilm on the PS3

You don't have much of a choice about watching Metal Gear Solid 4. I finished it recently on my dad's PS3 and there was parts where I was getting really frustrated with the sheer amount and length of cutscenes. I'd say the game, when playing it on normal difficulty, is about 60% cutscenes and 40% gameplay. I did enjoy the gameplay but the cutscenes did spoil it a little. Theres a good hour long cutscene with Liquid and the boats followed up by another one back with Otacon. Pretty ridiculous.
